if blizzard doesnt nerf ret paladin its going to cause a huge faction imbalance ill play ret paladin and alliance in classic wow for the first time ever because of how broken it wil lbe.

@@hvdiv17 have you seen the other runes? Every class I look at is going to be OP lol. Mage has a spammable instant with ice lance. Warlock has chaos bolt which does a billion damage. Warrior has tons of mobility. Rogue is going to do so much damage with crazy builds. It’s gonna be insane.

What i dont like about this is that they left the tallents unchanged like redoubt i know the aegis rune that changes it but why is it a rune that makes the tallent obsolete it even says it wont work with the tallent 'Effect not cumulative with Redoubt.' So it a waste of 5 tallent point even if you take devotion aura.

Yeah I would have preferred the talent trees actually be updated with the new abilities, but what’s nice about this is you can sort of tank as holy or Ret with the runes. There are other improvements to prot through runes that will make it a viable tank, so I just think the aim with the rune (obviously) wasn’t to replace redoubt.

​@@Varabeni agree with most what you say i myself just love pally tank so I see it a touch different but I dont understand your last sentence as the rune aegis does replace the tallent they cant be both active

What I mean is, holy and Ret can take the rune and if I’m reading the rune correctly, it’s the block chance that’s not cumulative (you won’t have 60% chance to block you’ll only have 30). So it does still add value to prot to take the rune and it’s strong enough that it would let Ret or holy potentially tank without needing to take the redoubt talent.

@@Varaben ah i see but then you still waste 5 tallent points if you want to take the tank path aura devotion is still a waste thats why I really wish the change the tallent then fixing it by runes

@lublin10000 my guess is it’s easier for them to balance it in this way, rather than reworking the entire tree. It’s not ideal but classic+ still a massive win imo.

Faction imbalance is going to be HUGE why would i roll horde when i can play a ret paladin with crusader strike,divine storm and windfury? im playing alliance for the first time ever due to ret paladins being so op .i just dont want to deal with it on horde if i pvp. oh yea and night elf hunters with shadowmeld casting aim shot,explosive shot and arcane shot from stealth before you can react isnt broken in pvp at all.

Yeah they’ve kinda said pvp racials aren’t going to be changed but I feel like we may see some big balance changes. They never really anticipate the meta it seems like.

Good question, I am not sure yet since a lot of other classes got new abilities too. It will def change depending on the content level band too.
