Seat Altea 2004 onwards how to remove radio,simple guide + part numbers for upgrading

Video kept nice and short but covering each step for removing your factory fitted radio without any damage to your car.
Also included some part numbers for fascia+cables if your fitting an aftermarket radio.

So I’ve managed to get the Cd player out but now I don’t know what connector I need to connect it to the new one? You know the big black one? I’m struggling! Thank you for showing us

Seeing as a few variations of connector are used depending on if you have steering controls,reverse sensors and which spec radio you have I would recommend calling a local auto shop such as Halfords and giving them your reg number so they can look up the exact part number for you. Or you could go on the Connects2 web site and look up what you need yourself by entering the car details. Hope this helps.

any idea on wiring ? I have the iso harness but can't get my stereo to power on after fitting.

No power is one of three things. 1. Red switched power cable is getting no supply = run a power supply cable from fuse box and connect to a ignition switched fuse. 2.Yellow main power cable is getting no supply = check cars radio fuse is not blown. 3.Black earth wire has a broken connection = connect black wire to a chassis earth.

@@PJsprojects yeah just checked my car. it's 2006 so the radio is turned on with the canbus. so I have to either run a wire from the fuse box or get a harness that generates the 12v ignition charge.

Seat Altea 2005 keeps on opening radio during night time; can you offer solution how to overcome this unpleaseant behaviour. Actually it kills car batteries.

Can only assume that either the radio is faulty or the car has a wiring loom short. No simple quick fix as it would need an auto electrician to check certain areas.

@@darynjones3169 I didn't get that stereo. But I dotn think you need a cage. There are 4 screw under the facia panel which bolts vw based stereos. If it's not a vw based stereo, then you need an adapter for the facia panel and then I presume a cage
