As an upholstery shop that makes custom outdoor cushions. Can you please take into consideration the height plus the cushions? I always have problems because cement benches are always finished at a final height and never consider the added height of the cushion. It’s always better to have 4” cushions instead of 2” for comfort. I work in the South Bay beach cities. Thanks for taking into consideration.

i do these a lot too. I don't like to take them on as much because like you said theres not much $ in them. they get pricey really fast because of the man hours and the amount of form work. I just finished one in costa mesa with a pour in place BBQ island and a huge bench with planter anon the back of the back rest. we also did a top cast deck and diamond cut joints but we added a perimeter band with embedded slate stones. it was a pain to do but it looked great.

Vibration is critical when consolidating fresh concrete.. Vibration reduces the concretes internal shear strength and enables concrete to momentarily liquefy to facilitate the consolidation process.. The consolidation process from proper vibration helps to makes the formation of the calcium hydroxide and calcium silicate hydrate crystals to provide more calcium silicate hydrate in which to form... To make a long story short.. Always vibrate concrete when you can, especially your thicker pours and/or low slump concrete.. You get much stronger concrete in the end.. There is a lot more going on then just getting rock pockets against your forms.. You're blessed to have a good crew.. It's easier to sleep at night..
