Concrete being pumped through lines generates heat in order to have a usable slump at the slab end of the hose the mud must be wetter to flow through the lines & reach the end at a manageable consistency .In order to achieve that through 3 pumps that would have to be a special mix high in Portland cement .

To run that pump hose any higher than the hip is completely stupid.

Usually concrete jobs are quoted a set price ,say $1.00 per square foot so a 2,000. Sq ft job would be 2,000.00 + tax materials not included.

Are you telling me that concrete crew charged a square footage price for place & Finnish plus $2,000.00 for a power screet. Scam

When you place without screetting to level (flat) & just rake & shake (rake it to eye & shake the bull float to fill lows / remove humps you get a piece of crap slab. Now to allow a pump operater to pump product with an unmanned hose is just stupid 30 years in the trade i,ve never seen such a grouse neglect of responsibility. Un less there was a malfunction of mixer controls over filling a pump is a direct result of human error.

You do need forms for that column. Even if it's a pool. That's sloppy work. In pools, the Tile guys usually get stuck fixing all the stupid shit that the Guniters or shot Crete guys do. I know from tiling pools for 20+ years. I do charge for all the extra work.

Shocking technique to ‘pour a pool’ a few fundamental issues there. It’s not shot Crete. The concrete is being pumped and also assisted by gravity. Should ideally be shot Crete to avoid voids in the concrete. The other big issue is the cover over the steel. Should be 40-50mm of concrete cover on the back, front, top and bottom so the steel doesn’t rust over time and leech through the interior of the pool. If rendering and fully tiled this will help mitigate the issues I’ve stated above for the inside of the pool but still not good practice, and won’t help the lack of cover over the steel on the outside. Third issue is where are the steel bar chairs to keep the steel of the ground? Or the walls? Big gap behind the walls but they will eventually get backfilled and that material will transfer moisture through to the steel, rust and cause issues. In Australia we call these kinds of workers donkeys for a reason. That’s being polite.

Years ago I graded a garage floor for a concrete finisher and went back the next day to help him pour it and the second truck driver forgot to check and drove the whole way there with the water turned on, yeah it started to pour out as soon as he pulled it.😵, Mr.Hoffman sent it back to the plant and had a very long talk to the owner and driver.
