I use blue old fart king with green estorosa for the double counter from any attack plus with the reduction for kings stance plus his passive that gives him 15% max hp back if he gets hit makes him great for this in my opinion

I really like how Estarossas unique ability works, I mean it just make stances way more relevant, even if the stance had no real usage you will at least have a 2 turn immunity buff for whoever you used the stance with.

If red gil has 5 ult gauges and the stance, he can tank easily every escanor attack. Can't say the same about estarossa though.

I gave this comp a go. I had some considerably favorable results for the first set of matches in ch.elite. Actually was shutting down mono-red teams with relative ease at the start. Though my G.Esta is 5/6, and Mikasa is 4/6. so their ults put in the work on big daddy nor. However the pleasant chorus of applause that was coming from all the clappin' I was doing was shut down pretty hard when encountering a heavily built Budget Deri (SREren) comp in a ranked match. His Eren hit like a fucking semi even under a silver, and his king was throwin out cleanses to mitigate commandment effect and keeping people topped off like mad.. So he made a show of thoroughly thrashing me for my first defeat in 20 or so matches. =\ I more contribute my thorough clappin' that dude gave me, more to the series of unfortunate RNG fuckery-induced hands I was getting than to him just being that bossmade , and he was getting perfect hands every damn turn as well, but it still completely trashed my momentum built prior to that match and was generally quite the buzzkill, never the less. lol At any rate, I defiantly see the viability in using Gilthunder this week, so it was a worthwhile comp to put to the test. Its also a nice change of pace in the meta, and smart on NetM's part, as units like him are rarely given purpose in the game, and these rules that get imposed on the upper echelons of the pvp heiarchy will encourage more competitive players to actually reevaluate their boxes a little bit and consider building out potentially key 'wildcard' units that could make or break match sets as per a rule's influence and will regularly force a refreshing meta shift. So all in all Cheers to good ideas. ^_^

No he won't counter meli wanna take damage in order for his counter to hit back hard at all in this taking 50% less damage makes his counter really bad if it was taking 50% more damage if assume a stance then yes counter meli would absolutely destroy but this is bad for his ciunter card
