Now that I’ve moved, THESE ARE CALLED THE MONTICELLO APTS LOCATED ON BOREN AVE

I moved to NYC twice without a job with about $1000 saved. The first time it took me about 6 months to find a job and the 2nd time it took about 2 weeks. I’m considering Seattle now so thanks for the video.

I’m so glad I came across your video!! All I’ve been seeing are downtown fancy apartments. They didn’t feel as authentic as your videos! Definitely a reality check! I’m moving in 3 months, and I’ve been worried about finding a nice affordable apartment.

I’m glad I could help. I, too, was mainly seeing those types when I first moved & it was frustrating forsure. Good luck on your move! I can’t remember if I said it in the video, but these are called Monticello

loved this video!! I'll be moving next month for a job(fingers crossed) and it really put some things into perspective! And thanks for mentioning the public transport aspect, I'll probably sell my car before I leave lol
@lifeofyelly3 жыл бұрын
Congrats! I hope you love it here. Things are starting to open back up slowly, so you’ll be coming at a better time than it was when it was the height of lockdown. Don’t sell your car if you’re gonna want to explore far away like hiking and small road trips. Vancouver, Canada is only 3 hours away & eventually the border will open back up. But if you think you won’t do much driving then sell that bad boy!

Well I am about to come out there in a few months to buy my own place. Do you suggest any areas I should look?
@lifeofyelly3 жыл бұрын
One of my coworkers and his wife just bought a house in Everett. It’s about 30 minutes away from Seattle on a good traffic day. A lot of people buy in the Tacoma area (35min away on a good day). My bestfriend lives in Lynnwood. That’s a nice area about 20 minutes from the city. Edmonds...Bremerton..Just look in some of the areas on the outside of Seattle. I wouldn’t recommend in the city tho because houses will be really close together, and expensive with only a little space.
@wymandiazjr28153 жыл бұрын
I'm not really picky on space, New Orleans is much worst when it comes to space 😑, but I will definitely be checking some areas out while I'm escaping Mardi Gras again 🏃🏾♂️💨. Glad that I subscribed to your channel 🤩

@lifeofyelly2 жыл бұрын
You’ll definitely have some business because there’s a market here but not a ton of Black stylists IN the city. Most people have to go outside of the city to go to any Black salons.

What’s the best neighborhoods to live planning to move in may from RI
@lifeofyelly3 жыл бұрын
Personally, I like Capitol Hill the best. I stay in First Hill which is a little bit more affordable when it comes to rent tho & neighbors Cap Hill. It really depends on what vibe you’re going for. If you want to be close to nightlife: Capitol Hill, Belltown, Ballard that I know of. Want to be close to a bunch of different shops: Capitol Hill, Downtown, U-District, Fremont. Want to be more residential: Queen Anne, Central District. Close to transit: Any of the neighborhoods with a Link Light Rail station & buses are everywhere. There are actually quite a lot of neighborhoods here that I’ve never been to/explored. Mostly the ones up north & some south. The further away you get from the city, the more residential it gets. But there are pockets of areas that have a hub in their neighborhood where a grocery & some stores/restaurants might be. You’ll definitely be able to find options tho. Of course, keep in mind where your job is located if you are wanting to stay close to it.
@brittanyzielinski29143 жыл бұрын
@@lifeofyelly WOW thank you for this amazing reply!! I appreciate you taking the time! I enjoyed capital hill when I visited but I’m kinda leaning more towards belltown because it’s near my job a little more thank you so much for your input and how you explained each area!
