The company trying to develop a new mixed-use apartment building in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood is now asking the city for emergency demolition of the vacant building on its lot.
A video of a man going down a hole, presumably into the building, is part of the reason for this new request. The company, Minglian Realty, LLC, sent that video to KOMO News and the city.
The video shows a man in a ball cap looking around and then disappearing down a hole in the ground at the southeast corner of the building across the alley from the dog park on Bell St. The building at the corner of Bell St and 2nd Ave. was once filled with the aroma of fresh food coming from Mama’s Mexican Kitchen, but today is boarded up, padlocked, and covered in graffiti.
