I’m a regular at la fondita. The amount of food they give you for 15$ or so is a great value! That’s why I keep coming back and the food is consistent

Yes, I agree! La Fondita is a great value and their meats are very good. If I lived closer to White Center, I would definitely be going there more often. The Best Roasted Corn Stand next door is also a bonus.

The tacos from the first place looks really delicious.

Yes, the tacos at Taqueria La Fondita are delicious! I went there again a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the meal. We also got a fruit cocktail from the roasted corn stand next door and that was also very good.

Thanks for watching ... I really appreciate your comment!! Hopefully you like the tacos from the video as much as we did. If you are located in Seattle, another great taqueria that wasn't featured in the video is Taqueria Sotelo. They have 2 locations, one is a food truck on Rainier Ave S (Central District), and the other is located in a gas station mini mart on Martin Luther King Jr. Way S (South Seattle). We frequent the food truck location on Rainier Ave S, and their carnitas and spicy pork tacos are great (nachos with those meats are also good). We've never been to their 2nd location in the gas station mini mart, but will probably try it soon. Welcome to the area and happy adventures!

Next time, fish taco! Looks so good and sound crunchy!

Thanks Shirley! OMG, those tacos were good!! Fish and Shrimp tacos were nice and crunchy. Will definitely check them out next time you visit. (I think that food truck is closed during the winter, so got to visit them during spring thru fall).

Thanks for your comment! We like Taqueria La Fondita a lot ... great tacos! I had no clue the guy was behind us, so it was definitely funny watching the video afterwards and seeing the guy dancing behind us.

Tacos Chukis was my favorite in Seattle!!!! I highly recommend that place
@genjster2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! We also like the tacos at Taco Chukis, especially the adobada pork tacos w/ the grilled pineapple. We have a preference for lengua, carnitas, cabeza, and al pastor tacos, which is why we highlighted taquerias in the video. But Taco Chukis is a solid choice if you like their meats, sauces and grilled pineapple.

@@genjster have y’all tried Maiz Molino? I’ve seen a few recommendations for it. My apologies if you already made a video about it. Haven’t had a chance to go through em yet.
@genjster Жыл бұрын
@@ContrerasCorner Sorry, we've never been to Maiz Molino, but it looks good. Fyi ... a Mexican restaurant on my "next to try list" is Asadero, which is a Mexican steakhouse with 2 locations: Asadero Ballard in Seattle and Asadero Prime in Kent (about 20 miles south of Seattle). I've heard good things about their carne asada and wagyu tacos. Please note that Asadero is in the $$$ range, so it's more expensive than Maiz Molino. Ballard is a cute neighborhood with a very good Ballard Farmers Market on Sundays, and also the Ballard Locks (you can watch boats pass through the locks and it's one of Seattle's most popular free attractions -- just be sure to read the parking signs and pay for parking if required). Have fun while visiting Seattle!

We ended up visiting Snoqualmie Falls and in the town they had a really good Oaxacan restaurant (Caadxi Oaxac). If y’all ever make the drive there. We just ate the Mole and we did eat the Molina. They do have a spot at Pikes market as well , next door to the first Starbucks.

@@ContrerasCorner Thanks for the tip on Caadxi Oaxac ... the food looks good. Snoqualmie Falls is beautiful and the town of Snoqualmie is real cute with the trains and stores. How did you like Maiz Molina at Pike Place? Did you enjoy the food there?

Thank you for showing some of the GREAT food enterprises in the south Seattle area. Taqueria La Fondita in White Center is totally legit. The international markets in the surrounding neighborhood are the real deal as well. And don’t sleep on Birrieria Tijuana in located in Burien. It’s a hassle getting into this part of Seattle right now. However, these areas are rapidly gentrifying and these local gems and low prices may not be there for long. BTW plenty of street parking and easy flat walking to take in the local dramatic street art.

Thank you so much for the great comment! I agree ... the south Seattle area has a ton of great restaurants and markets. Looking forward to exploring more of the places in future videos. Hopefully the West Seattle Bridge opens soon, so it will help alleviate all the traffic in the area.

Great video. Thank you for sharing your favorite taco stops. I highly recommend checking out Taco City Taqueria in Columbia City. The lengua tacos are the best I have ever had. The service is outstanding with a young(er) crowd feel.

Thanks for your kind words and the recommendation! Taco City sounds great. 👍 Taco City menu says their lengua is braised in Modelo ... must be delicious. Looking forward to trying out their food.

I’m from San Jose where we have affordable taquerias damn near every half a mile away from each other. I live in Seattle now and always get the worst recommendations. I’ll have to check these places out.
@genjster2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! Seattle area has been getting more taquerias over the last few years, so the competition should make the average taco better. The carnitas and lengua tacos at Carnitas Michoacan are always good. I was there last week and they had a birria taco special, and that was pretty good. The taco was griddled after making, but it's NOT served with consomme. Taqueria La Fondita is also really good. We always get cabeza, lengua, carnitas and spicy pork there. La Fondita is a little further from us, so we don't go there as much, but it's solid. Hope you enjoy one of the recommendations.

Some of my favorites, but you gotta hit up Carmelo’s tacos on 12th by Seattle U. The campechano tacos taste like grandma’s kitchen.
