do you still like your Giotto?
@davidmaron99618 ай бұрын
Absolutely! I use it almost everyday. Fresh espresso beans are key. I get mine through a local coffee company to help ensure their freshness. There is no comparison b/t the Giotto or similar machines to the Nesspresso pods that I use at work. Hope that helps! @@gosman949

Answer I got directly from Rocket USA about the 90 min eco-mode: "Eco mode is only on European models as required by the EU. This feature is not on the machines being brought into the USA."
@SeattleCoffeeGear4 жыл бұрын
This is correct. However, the first shipments we received from Rocket had the Eco-mode. That was then removed from the current USA production.

I know Gail is retired so don’t know if someone can answer this question. I’ve had a Rocket Giotto for 5 years. Recently, the machine stopped pumping water. When speaking to Seattle Coffee Gear, a local tech was recommended that apparently is Rocket certified. He came to the house and after examining the machine, determined it needed a new pump. The pump was ordered and brought to the to the house for installation. Once installed and the machine turned on, it produced a very weak sound and was not pumping water. The sound was unusual - not at all like the louder sound the machine always produced when turned on and pumping water.The tech did not seem to be familiar with what the machine should sound like at all. He checked the hose which didn’t seem to be the problem and saw that he inserted a spring inside the tube. Finally he started banging a component (I imagine the pump) to get it started which didn’t work but somehow snapped a wire creating many sparks! At this point I am terrified of what could have happened! He also thought that the pump he received may have been old. He insisted that he could do a better job at his workshop if he took my machine because he would have access to his tools. I didn’t feel comfortable with this but seems I had little choice. My question is why the spring in the tube? This seems to me like it would be more of a potential for rusting and wearing of the plastic tube. Second, after all the sparks, I have no idea at this time if he damaged another component! What could this have been? Any response would be appreciated.

did you get your Giotto back and how is it operating now?
@Victoria-bl4tw8 ай бұрын
@@gosman949 I got it back after a very long time. So much so that I called Rocket to get some insight. Apparently, they were aware of the situation and had been helping the tech with the repair as well as sending him parts. I found out that he had blown the board as well as a fuse. Rocket explained that this was the tech’s first attempt at repairing a Giotto. I was very frustrated. When he finally returned the machine, he refused to put the frame back together.I offered to pay him extra if needed but said he was pressed for time. After a couple days he returned but did a sloppy job. He put the frame together but one side was left loose. However, for now it is working but never again! I’d rather purchase a new machine. This man was supposedly the only Rocket certified tech in my town.

@@gosman949 Thanks for asking. My Giotto was returned after a very long time. So much so that I contacted Rocket to get some insight into its malfunction. To my surprise they were familiar with my situation. The tech had contacted Rocket for assistance in the repair. it seems that during his attempt to replace the pump in my home, he blew the board as well as a fuse. These were parts that he had to order from them. Although I was told that he was a Rocket certified technician (apparently the only one in my town), it was actually his first attempt to repair a Giotto. When the Giotto was finally delivered, the tech refused to the put the machine back together despite having been given an initial quote which included putting the mounting back on. I even offered to pay him more but said he was pressed for time and had other jobs to attend to. He finally promised to come back after a few days but when he did he did a sloppy job leaving one side loose. So far, the machine is still working but never again! I’d rather buy a new machine.

Can you tell me which machine would you choose. Rocket Giotto V or the Lelit Mara X?
@dparad224 жыл бұрын
@Seattle Coffee Gear Is the double basket 14g or 18g that comes with the machine? I can fit 18g in there but it seems like it might be for 14g.

I also see that the pressure isn’t constant and only at 6 bar- what could make that happen? why isn’t the flow higher if the pressure is low?
@adrianstealth340 Жыл бұрын
It’s set wrong on her machine , there’s an adjustment inside & should be around 10 bar on machine for 9 bar at group higher pressure & finer grind should yield better results than what we see in this vid

hi, can someone tell me if the water temperature that comes out of the brewhead should be lower than in the rocket sheet in the manual? for example: I let water (without coffee) running in to a glass and rhe temperature is measuring 82c. the machine is set to 121c so according to rocket chart the temperature should be 95.1c. is it normal to lose about 10 degrees from the brewhead to the glass when measured instantly? reason why Im asking is that im getting sour shots, even when im over extracting by a lot. like 50sec. for a 42 gramm shot. any help would be much appreciated!
@dharialzamel51654 жыл бұрын
measuring the temperature from a glass is never the right way you need to install a portafilter with a built in thermostat to measure it correctly, and if you don't have that there is a small thermostat the you can buy and you can install it in the grouphead

1. What is the drip tray width? Is it the same as in Appartamento (274mm vs ?) and the bigger overall width (335mm) comes from the 3d sides? 2. What is the lower possible height of this machine I can get by changing the height of its feets (400mm vs ?)
