I bought a Seauto Seal. It's just ok. It just randomly goes around the pool not the efficient pattern in some of their ads. Leads to missed spots. Only gets about 50% of the walls. Good at getting stuff off the bottom though.

Great video. I bought a Seauto Crab since I have a smaller pool. Mine on has Cover All mode. I reached out to company and they stated a new app is in the works but when released, they will charge you for being able to select the different modes (or unlock those modes). They told me first few users won’t be charged but I may take back since I’m still in return window. It works ok but doesn’t go all the way up on walls and it would be nice to have floor only option. I appreciate your channel and your honest reviews.

What? That's terrible. One of the biggest selling points is it being a simple plug n play cleaner. Forcing you to use an app and charging more will change my opinion on this cleaner... Thank you for letting me know!

I got mine today. I was able to use the app to change the mode, and I didn't pay. As a matter of fact, once unlocked, you can change the mode by pressing the button on the unit. No need to connect to the phone.

Hey David. Great video. I recently got a Scuba S1 and it does not cover all of my pool like I was wishing. It leaves about 40% of the pool untouched. I have a kidney shaped pool with a pretty big deep end and not alot of shallow en. I was looking at the Seal and then saw this. Would you recommend this for my style of pool?
@imdefinitelydavid
@imdefinitelydavid 7 ай бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that the Scuba didn't work out. The Seal is more aggressive and can actually handle depths of over 15 feet according to the manual so it might do better for your pool. The Seal/Crab/Smonet is all the same. This one in the video is the newer model Seal. But keep in mind there isn't a weekly timer for the Seal if that's important to you.

Hey David I recently spoke to you last week. I bought the nautilus cc plus and not really a big fan of it. My pool is very similar to yours and the nautilus can’t make it up to my tanning ledge. As far as picking up sand and dirt it doesn’t get everything either and that’s with the ultra fine filter. I am thinking of going with cordless now which would you recommend far as robot vacuums go ?
@imdefinitelydavid
@imdefinitelydavid 8 ай бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that the CC Plus didn't work for your pool! When the ultra-fine filters are used it does lower the suction to the cleaner. Because it needs more power to suck debris through the thicker filters. You could try to use the normal fine filters and see if it climbs better but that still wouldn't fix the dirt and sand issue. For cordless cleaners, the Seauto Shark does well to pick up dirt/sand at a good price point but no weekly timer. The Aiper Scuba S1 is also great and has a weekly timer but no ultra-fine filter. And then there are a few other cordless cleaners with ultra-fine filters that go well above the 1k mark for price.

@@imdefinitelydavidno worries thanks for the feedback. I might try it with the original filters and see how that works. As of now I’m looking at the scuba s1 , seagull, and wybot c1. Between the aipers scuba vs seagull which do you prefer ? And do you have any opinions on the wybot c1?
@imdefinitelydavid
@imdefinitelydavid 8 ай бұрын
Between the Scuba S1 and the Seagull Pro I would go for the Scuba. It has a better navigation system and more power as well as a weekly timer. The S1 is like the newer version of the Seagull Pro with more features. I haven't used the Wybot C1 but it looks a lot like the Osprey 700 that worked well. The price seems really nice actually.

Hey Josh, I don't know if you're still trying out the CC Plus or switched over yet but Wybot sent me a corded cleaner to review and it's actually REALLY good for the price. It's the Wybot L1 and it's slightly more expensive than the CC Plus but it comes with a UFF and smart app. I will be posting that video soon. Also, I'm in the works with them about reviewing the C1 soon too so I'll have that video up as well.

@@imdefinitelydavidhey David I am still having issues with the CC. Now it’s getting stuck in corners of the pool. And I changed it back to the original filters. I just saw your new review on the wybot. At this point I’m getting nervous spending close to 1k for a pool vacuum and it not performing you know what I mean? I guess in your opinion what’s the average/good cordless vacuum that’s going to climb walls and tan ledge and not get stuck in corners?

I’m not sure I caught the difference between the SEAL SE from last year and the 2024 version; aside from body and perhaps the way the filter is removed. So if you could have either last year’s or this years at the same price; which one and why?
@imdefinitelydavid
@imdefinitelydavid 7 ай бұрын
As of today, I just realized the new 2024 version does not include the physical option to change modes on the cleaner itself. Seauto has decided to allow that only in their app which will be available later on. This is a bummer. A downgrade to last years model imo. A downgrade in options for a plug n play cleaner. So aside from the physical looks, it moves and works the same. I would get the previous model if you're still able to find it. They're already phasing it out.
@erice8502
@erice8502 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the reply. Too many brands/names for this same cordless vacuum- makes it difficult. Aside from the difference you pointed out being the lack of an app to change mode, it does appear very little other change from the Seal SE. They have the same suction power; so real change is size, weight and sq. ft. Coverage.

I have a seauto shark and I’ve only had it since March and had no problems with it till today. It had a flashing yellow light saying caution left pump motor. How do I go about that? And why isn’t the shark on the website anymore, with that will the company be able to help me?
@imdefinitelydavid
@imdefinitelydavid 6 ай бұрын
From what I've heard from others, it's very hard getting in touch with Seauto. They discontinued the Shark model and no longer sell it. That's unfortunate because it works great and was the least expensive cordless option with ultra-fine filter and waterline cleaning. I don't know if anyone has had any luck contacting them for warranty work. They have contact info on their seautorobots website if that helps.

@imdefinitelydavid

On these models here, none of them do unfortunately. This could be that they are working on a higher end model with that option to be released later on, or they want to focus primarily on this value cleaner market at the moment.

I wanted to buy the Seauto Shark and like everyone else has mentioned, I can’t find it anywhere. I want an ultra fine filter and have a 12.5k gallon pool so it’s not too big. What is the best option if I can’t find a Shark? They were around $1k last I could find them. Thanks for the great content!
@imdefinitelydavid

Unfortunately since the Shark is no longer available there aren't many inexpensive options with an ultra-fine filter. The only cordless ones with ultra-fine filter I can think of are the Dolphin Liberty 300 and the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro. Both of those are around the 1k mark though. Even more expensive would be the Beatbot AP.

The Seal and Shark are very aggressive waterline scrubbers. Although it says its safe for vinyl pools I wouldn't risk using it in a vinyl pool. A very good CORDLESS cleaner that I've used recently is the Scuba S1. It's a bit more expensive and covers the waterline as well but not super aggressive like the Seautos. You might want to take a look at that Scuba S1 for your pool!

The Shark is better if you need that ultra-fine filter. So if you get tiny debris and a lot of it like sand, the Shark is better. I wish the Seal had an ultra-fine filter but nope. Weird because I've actually put the Shark's basket into the Seal and it works fine.

I know tracks and wheels have pros and cons. Which you lean more towards overall?
@imdefinitelydavid
@imdefinitelydavid 8 ай бұрын
For me, I always lean towards tracks for sure. My walls/steps/ledges are a steep 90 degree angle and tracks just work better to climb them. Wheels are better if you have a simpler kind of bowl shaped pool if that makes sense. If you don't need the steep climbing that tracks offer. Since wheels do last longer than tracks generally, that's something to consider

@@imdefinitelydavid yeap ver true, personally plug and play , cordless would be great if the power is there to vacuum but our most important thing is that is actually cleaned the pool so an ultra fine filter I think would be necessary, I don’t think that an app or anything like that is necessary (we work from home so we are always here and it’s not like I could ask the robot to crawl itself to the pool if I’m away unless it was already there so not necessary but if it has it then great), thank you so much for responding, I’ve been watching your videos and they are great and yes lots of robots and options.

So this is where it gets even harder, lol. Finding a CORDLESS cleaner with filter at a good price is the hard part. I've done a lot of great valued cleaners, but a majority of the time, they don't include UFFs, unfortunately. So you kind of have to expect to pay more. I wish they would sell a separate UFF but these companies don't and want you to spend more on the next model up. A few to consider: Seauto Shark: Least expensive option, but from what I hear, it's hard to find right now. I think they're possibly going to release a new version/model soon. Dolphin Liberty 300: expensive for the features IMO, but you get a well-known brand here/warranty/customer support. Aiper Scuba S1 Pro: This is the model above the normal S1 but it will have an UFF with enhanced waterline cleaning. About the cost of the Liberty but more features. I'm very excited about this one but unfortunately it's not yet released(supposed to be this month). Beatbot Aquasense: Haven't used this one yet but have heard mixed reviews. Also kind of expensive.

No there's 2 versions. There's the normal one that you're seeing around 1.1k and the Pro version around 2k. The Pro version is a robotic cleaner with also a built-in surface pool skimmer. Hence the more expensive price. It's the first-ever of it's kind. The normal Aquasense is the robotic cleaner only.
