Thanks to you, I went down the same rabbit hole after watching your nib break video…I have about 4 majohn A1’s and A2’s and now I have 4 Jinhao’s the caramel and orange, I bought first, then I got the yellow and green gradient, went to Ali express and got the grey gradient, and the gold, all ordered within a week of each other. The coffee one came today, and the yellow and green gradient came Friday, I am still awaiting the grey and gold, thank you so so much. The gradient ones are my favorite, next I want the blue gradient.

I haven’t received my 5 jinhao 10 pens that are the way…but after your video I ordered 2 more 😅😅😅just had to! lol the matte black brushed (with ridges) just called to me when you showed it….the caramel is beautiful too….i fear when I see them in person I may become even more obsessed 🤩 don’t feel bad for influencing me, they are great value for money. I also ordered the kakuno to try it out. I feel it will be similar quality to my preppy which is such a smooth writer imo. But their looks can’t compare to the jinhao 10. And the pilot capless which make me feel guilty to spend that much on one pen when the jinhao is just as beautiful and comparable feeling. So thank you for your review and for sharing ❤

I just received my Benu Briolette Magenta Frost Fountain Pen a medium and I love it. I do have a Pilot Vanishing point which I love I got for Christmas but my loves are TWSBI and now Benu! I asked for a Benu Scepter Grand XX for my anniversary with shimmer ink to go with it. Yes I am loving shimmering ink! I want to get black shimmering ink too!

I got the Jinhao 10 because of you and i absolutely love it. I got the orange one with silver accents which is like a dupe for the Pilot Capless that you received . Somehow I have already acquired some Jinhao 82's already too! You can deconstruct them and mix and match the pieces and this going to be a whole thing for me lol, im having so much fun. The quality is amazing for the price.

My Majohn A1 was scratchy and had hard starts, but now it works well. It has had the same ink the whole time. The Jinhaos worked amazingly at first but now they don't. I'm going to give them a cleansing bath to se if the ink flows better after that. The converters doesn't hold much ink so I need to constantly refill after writing only a few lines. 🥺 I'll give the Pilot cartridges a try instead.

Yes, try the Pilot cartridges! They hold so much more ink. One refill will last me 4-5 days. Not sure if you saw this already, but I shared exactly how I use and refill with the Pilot cartridges in this video here- kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpSxZWefq8qUjs0

The Mahjong A1 cartridges fits too, but since my Jinhao 10 is giving me trouble and refuses to write I don't know if it's the sheening ink or the cartridge that the problem yet. Have to clean the Jinhaos first and try with another ink to see. This is real detective work! 😊

Like girl, I ordered ALL of the Madoromi colors, and hunted down the Milk and Straight tea exclusive colorways from the Stationery Girls Expo 2024… Waiting for the 2023 China exclusive Glazed Blue to ship from AliExpress.. I'm on my second Jinhao 10 (EF), because the first one was a mess. The nib had all kinds of issues and the ink dried up within hours. The second one writes like a dream super smooth especially for an EF. It instantly became my daily writer... BUT it still dries up a bit over night so it does hard start every morning. ( I tried different inks and I deep cleaned it)But because I love it so much I will buy either another Jinhao 10 and hope for the best or I will try the Mahjon version. But that has a reputation for leaking. Side note: I wish they had a matte white version with black clip and trim.

Yes, perhaps try another. Mine hasn't had any problems with drying up. Another reason why I purchase through Amazon- Easier to return if any problems arise. Hope you get one that works!

You should look at the Mijohn clipless/capless. No clip, just a roll stop up by the nock. It's aligned with the nib like the clip.

I have a Capless Decimo in Blue Sparkle, Capless Alloy Black Piano, Capless Red and Gold. Then I have the Jinhao in Black Piano and the Gray Gradiant. I also have a Moonman Blue Sparkle with no clip. The Moonman one has a very scratchy extra fine nib. I had to buy some nib replacements for it. Those should fit on my Jinhao pens even the Capless pens if something should happen to the nibs on them. I did notice that Moonman and Jinhao are putting out the pens in the limited edition colors and special colors that Pilot had put out before. That are super expansive now. The Caramel one was one of the limited edition color so people are going to buy this one alot.

Ohh! The gray gradient is a nice one too! And you're so right about the limited edition colors. Someone mentioned that this new 'caramel orange' is actually inspired by Pilot’s Whiskey color. But honestly, I’m loving the Jinhao price point way more... haha.

You should check your MoonMan A2 to see if your nib leaks....I have 2 of those and they both leak from the nib. I have bought another 2 Jinhao 10: a green with the clip, the section point and the back button in black and the Caramel Orange (like your's).

Oooh...Hmmm. My Benu in Medium nib is the smoothest, just because the ink comes out wetter. BUT, the Jinhao 10 and my Pilot Kakunos in Fine nib write the same, to me. Both are smooth, but just with a thinner out put, if that makes sense. I prefer smooth writers as well, and am plesantly satisfied with all of them. It also comes down to ink brands. My Diamine inks come out 'drier' in my Fine Jinhao and Kakunos. However, inked with Noodlers, Robert Oster, Monteverde, and Pilot inks, it comes out wetter. Hope this helps 😅

I stopped buying pens during the wildfires and so much tragedy... felt I should donate that money. No judgment, mentioning because NOW I don't think we can buy Jinhao's.... well, just ordered a black matte J10 via Prime which will be here fast. BUT, given the ban on small Chinese imports I think this will affect many of the moonmen and other replicas. Please post anyone who has trouble... curious. Swear I will post more on Prera soon. My main realization is how much INK affects all fountain pens. I've had Kanunos and Preras act differently depending on the ink. Even a Namiki (older Pilot brand) ink clogged my original Kakuno. I find Sailor Manyo inks "clean up" and make nibs smoother, but so does my Pilot black, and of course Platinum's Carbon is a dream (Preppies are a whole other post!) Maybe you or others have posted about those or ink. As for Prera, I swear the new ones are much thinner than my OG Prera, but the capping remains superb! Love your enthusiasm for Pilot, gal. 😍

Noʻt to be totally off topic; but, I love the Pilot medium tip gels pens. Can you please suggest where to find a notebook (preferably A5) that has a LOT of pages (preferably lined or dot grid) with paper that is 80gsm or less? Haven't had much finding one like the expanded (thick) Moleskin but with thinner paper. 😞

Hmm, finding a thick notebook like the Moleskine Expanded has been a challenge for my as well. Other notebooks I enjoy are the Midori A5 1 day per page (amzn.to/4aLZ2AE) and Cafe Note's A5 (amzn.to/40WAAco). The Cafe Note has thin paper but holds up with gel ink. Hope this helps!

Oh wow I literally just got the black matte stripe as well! I saw the pilot version on a reseller site ($$$) and decided to try the Jinhao version and it’s so good! I've used the Lamy paper for journaling and practicing calligraphy almost every day for the past year. I'm really used to its uniqe grid. I wish they made bigger versions. (I've never had bleeding or feathering with fine nibs and waterproof fp inks I use)

@@SeaweedKisses I use fine and extra fine nibs, nothing special. I mostly use "write and draw ink" from "octopus fluids”. I experimented with mixing the dye based inks I normally use for sketching (talens ecoline) in fountain pens and dip pens. They also don’t bleed. Some of the noodlers sample inks I tried did feather but I couldn’t find their names. Only bleed-through I could find was from a stabilo highlighter. I also use brush pens, felt tip pens, fine liners and other stuff with no problem. It’s not the smoothest paper, if you don’t enjoy writing in it, it can make a nice sketchbook.
