I recently got back into fountain pens and have been using the A5 pen and gear notebook. Depending on ink, the ghosting is acceptable for my morning pages. I have a couple of inks that will bleed through. But for the price………you can’t go wrong. In fact, I bought two boxes of the notebooks when my local Walmarts ran out of them. I found them at a smaller Walmart and bought what they had. 😁

I was in Barnes & Noble today. Mine carries Leuchtturm, Moleskin, nice brands, but avg cost A5 is $28. I can journal in a Pen and Gear for $12 from WalMart, and buy nicer for certain uses. Thank you!

I love the Pen and Gear line from Walmart. I'm a school/office supply junkie. Always have been. I love notebooks, paper, pens, pencils, markers, etc. I like to keep a small notebook and pen in my bag for quick notes. I haven't looked to see where the one I have is made, but the paper holds up to my Pilot G-2 gel pen and ball point pens. I prefer to purchase products made in America as much as possible.

I found out about the daily passport planners too late. But in all fairness, I have stalked Wal-Mart's Pen+Gear line since they started releasing the composition and art notebooks. My nearest WM locations didn't offer the box-set when it was available. I keep a stock of the bold gel pens--they are my absolute FAVORITE black ink pens. I love their monthly and budget planners. Those were my "starter" for planners. I migrated to something nicer for a while (I find discounted name-brand planners at Marshall's and Burlington in appropriate seasons) and this year I have the pen+gear monthly again for my project tracking.

Great haul and great deals. These are some good cheaper alternatives. I have definitely invested in more expensive notebooks because of buying online. Seems like expensive notebooks are pushed more. I do enjoy Tomoe River Paper, but those are excellent deals on pocket notebooks to throw in your purse. I have more than enough and don’t have plans to buy anytime soon, but I really enjoyed this video.

Cool tip. The paper in these Walmart notebooks/paper are going to usually say either Made in Viet Nam, or China. The Viet Nam paper is almost always better and smoother quality and more fountain pen friendly. So now, no matter where I pick up an inexpensive journal or notebook, I choose one with paper made in Viet Nam. It shows off the fountain pen ink better in my opinion. Let me know if your 3-pack of little notebooks label says Made in Viet Nam. EDIT; Oh lol, I had not finished watching this video before I commented, you agreed on the Viet Nam thing! ❤

I have been wondering about the Exeed brand notebooks. All my local Walmarts have completely clearanced them out last year! I kept checking 3 or 4 stores and picking up a book or two every time, as the clearance prices went lower and lower. So I am excited to hear that the Pen&Gear notebooks are made by the same company. I would love to hear you do a comparison on them.

I loved walmart notebooks for they are incredibly nice to my wallet. 😅 i'm also the same for patterned notebooks, for some reason my mind is like this book is too pretty for scribbling get a basic cover one. I got the craft notebook for a commonplace especially for that price.

I stopped shopping at Walmart several years ago because they refused to allow their employees to unionize. They also got rid of its DEI program, which affects employee progress even further. Although you have ran across a good deal or two, the treatment of this corporation should make people look at other companies whose goals align with employee wellness and prosperity and that's not Walmart🙂‍↔️ I will never encourage anyone to spend their money with a corporation that doesn't support the wellness of it's employee. Otherwise I do like your other videos.

Given the limited shopping options in my small town (Walmart, Target, Dollar Tree, and Amazon warehouses) it does feel challenging to find alternatives that align with ethical practices these days...It seems like all corporations used on a regular bases (if you really dig deep enough) partake in some sort of practice that will not align with each and everybody's preference. If you have any recommendations for accessible stores that prioritize employee wellness and fair treatment, I’d love to hear them! Would love to know where you shop and chose to support with your money 🥰

Dear Department of Education, please remove the pregnancy line from all paper, it is not safe for our students and they will be better off learning without it, believe me. XOXO, Seaweed Kisses 😳😳😂🤣😂🤣 The pregnancy line was priceless! 😂 Our “local” Walmart, 40 miles away, was once a regular size, they supersized it by adding a bit of space but not to a full size supersized space?! 🤔 You should see me trying to pass someone in the aisle there, unless your carts 🛒 are perfectly aligned according to some unknown geometry 📐 calculation you are gonna crash, which I do on the regular. Patience would not be a virtue of mine and people do not follow the aisle rules of a fake supersized Walmart. I treat it like bumper cars except I am on the outside of the thing. 😂 My grandaughter stayed the entire month of July with us, she wanted to ride in the cart 🛒, I said okay but you gotta keep your fingers inside at all times. She was like, why?! I was like, you will see. We start off, the first aisle I needed to go down was full, I was zigzagging bumping into carts while grabbing stuff. We get to the end of the aisle and my grandaughter said, ummmm, you are scary, I want to be with Nannie Annie. 😂 😂 Then she gets on the phone with my daughter and says, your mother is scary when I am riding in the cart. I mean there are 4 of us in a four generation situation, saying your mother takes a minute to figure out which one you are talking about, but my daughter gets it, I get the phone and try to say, that was a slight exaggeration, isn’t she cute 🥰 before my daughter said, Maaaaaaaa, stop scaring the children. 😂 😂 All of that to say, the one advantage I might have is that sometimes I can find hidden gems in the stationary section because apparently people in Southern Oklahoma don’t use notebooks or journals on a regular basis?! 🤔 Thank you for another great video, I am gonna be on the hunt. And if all else fails, Dallas/Fort Worth here I come and while there I will also go to Daiso and Trader Joe’s! 💕
