Conrad , I think came into his first race very much underrated. He has proved himself a s one of the more knowledgeable sailors in the the fleet. His videos have some of the best . Showing all the emotions of a Vendee Globe race from the elation to despair. Hid rope knowledge and all their functions was very well done. Great presenter for all of us couch sailors during this event. It will be someone to look forward to in 2028.

Conrad has done the Vendee before and is well respected amongst the fleet. His videos are great especially for those new to the race. He is also one of the few skippers regularly posting videos in English rather than French which makes him more accessible to us native English speakers

Yes! They are both bold in their decision-making so this should be fun to watch. While I'm partial to Conrad as I know him, I'm also an old guy and close to JLC's age, so I'm also sort of rooting for him. He's the sly old fox that just always seems to find a way to get back into it... which I love. Conrad is so relentless, though and that is inspiring as well!
@jamesaron19678 сағат бұрын
That is a beautiful place you showed us at the start of the video. Must be amazing in the summer. Conrad is second to none when it comes to tech explanations of the IMOCA. I'm glad he was able to move up in rank, he deserves it. What happened to Jean is weird. Not only is he in very light winds but his yacht is also brand new. I did not expect something like that to occur. Maybe a weak point in the construction of the rig that wasn't noticed after the launch, and subsequently worsened in the rough conditions of the Southern Ocean only to finally give way now. The new one-design mast will be essential if they're going to permit T-foil rudders in the future. The loads will increase. That was one of the main reasons they are still not allowed. If they were permitted teams would install them without having the necessary improvements to their rigs.

Florian, another great show. I have to get back to Europe and Holland, especially. I lived in Germany for 5 years, 1988 to 93 and visited Holland several times. I did the Nijmegen March twice and a couple of bike tours along with other trips. But now I sail it's much easier on the body. ❤ from Canada.

The nice thing with Dyneema is how easy you can splice it compared to steel cable. Splicing steel cable ist blood, dirt, and cursing

Florian said in a previous episode that the J2 stay is an important component to hold up the mast so there's no problem. She had a J3 sail issue which is fixed now.

Boris and Team Malitzia have also posted a video update to say that Boris has a badly damaged foil on Malitzia after it struck something in the water. He tried to cut it away from the boat but could not so he managed to shorten its overall length and secure it at the tip with some lines from the deck but it is going to compromise his speed and i would guess his finishing time and overall position. He has not retired. 😞. Greg 🇬🇧
