Congratulations to Yoann and Charlie what an amazing achievement. Thank you so much Florian for your coverage of this race. I have looked forward to it every morning here in Australia. The race has had everything, drama, and excitement. It has been a pleasure getting to know the personalities of some of these intrepid racers as well. A special shout out to Conrad who has always been amusing and willing to expand on what is going on. Tha k's again Florian ❤

Fantastic! I love these media muppets who crawl out of the woodwork and put together wild compilations like this filled with gorgeous sailing images because Andy and company can't do everything, by Jove.

I cannot believe they can walk after that many days on the sail!

Always interesting how many participants to sport vs actual participation. How is spectating interesting or rewarding on any level.

So would you say that the boat design (particularly the hull/rocker shape) has been shown to be better with Charlie's configuration over Yoann's? Or, is it a matter of luck with regard to what kind of sea state they will get for a particular race? If it's a tradeoff of optimizing for the Southern Ocean vs. the Atlantic, then historically it seems it would be better to lean toward a Southern advantage. Was this race just an oddball occurrence of a mild Southern/Indian leg? Also, Yoann maybe needed to factor this in early by thinking his gain on #2 had to occur in that leg by a large margin. Otherwise, it would slip away in the Atlantic. If he had followed Charlie and Seb, he might have ended up with a 500 nm lead by Cape Horn, instead of having to claw back such a large lag. We'll never know, but it's fun to ask what if. 😊
