"Antonucci's, $10. Fucking cheap bad-tuhds!". LOL! My parents wedding was like that. It was a Polish wedding that went on for two days, including the reception. They didn't have a satin bag for cash, they had a decorated box thingy with a slit in the top wide enough for cash or envelopes. I sat on the head table next to the bride and groom. I think it's the best way to go.

"100%" Italian and I stand by everything he said. Many times comedians exaggerate for laughs, but this is spot on. When I got married, my mother in law sat down with my wife after the wedding and recorded all of the gifts in a book of which I never saw again. My wife did tell me though, later on in our marriage, that she did reference the book quite a bit. My mom is a bit different and just keeps a mental note of everything. Like an elephant, she never forgets.

Well yeah. What's the point in getting 5 microwave ovens from 5 different people? Pretty stupid. You can't start a new life with toasters, bowls and TVs. Life works with MONEY.
@KomamuraSajin6 жыл бұрын
@@Abrahamhamham That's why registries exist. You don't have to buy anything off the list but it shows exactly what the marrying couple need/want and accounts for items already purchased by a wedding guest (so you don't get 5 toasters). Not a hard concept unless you intentially want to end up in the black book for being cheapskates which is really what cash givers are. Hardly a significant amount is ever given when cash is the go to gift in any scenario. Of course all gifts, cash or otherwise, are completely voluntary.

There is a fancy letter box at Irish weddings for the envelopes, you don't register for gifts you do just that, money in a card. It's €150 as a rule. Weddings are expensive to attend here. If you get invited to three or four weddings in a year, well... Good luck with that lol...
