That's why we love him and that's why celebrities actually often seek the opportunity to get on the show. Because who the hell wants to answer the same ol' boring questions about the exact same projects... Like we get it, MCU is a huge part of his career, but Jesus, it didn't start there and it definitely not going to end there. Plus there's never awkward, personal, intrusive questions with him too, which I think celebrities really find refreshing (as we do, I hate some "journalists" and their questions, ugh).

It's important to note that Sean also has a lot more time to prepare for interviews than most other people. In a typical press junket or media day that celebrities do, there's no time to deep dive on books they've written, podcasts they've been on, etc. Not to mention the actors' publicists usually have a specific topic that the interviewer is not allowed to stray far from. Hot Ones is allowed to be a lot more freeform than a typical interview.

I love how Sean never puts himself over his interviewees concerning dealing with the hot wings. He always takes a sip of milk when his interviewee does so he/she doesn't feel bad or weak in any kind of way, also he always comforts them that taking a sip of that milk is not weak or something like that at all. I giggled a bit, but mostly, I felt bad for him. I grew up with hot sauce on the table for dinner. I tasted some of them, and I immediately started coughing and crying. I didn’t try any more hot sauce until I became a teenager. I even ate hot link sandwiches with hot sauce. Yes, it burned like hell, but again, I was a teenager. My friends dared me to do it, and like a dummy, I did it. And I paid for that mistake a few minutes afterwards.🤢🤮 My mother hated the stuff, but my father would start complaining about dinner unless there was a display of his various favorite hot sauce bottles on the table. (This was back in 60s, before the Women’s Liberation Movement. He did eventually help with setting the table, though.) I don’t know if that had anything to with Women’s Lib Movement, or if he just became tired of my mother complaining about the hot sauce bottles taking up too much space on the table. “There’s barely enough room for the food!” So he would choose one bottle, and put the rest up. I never understood why he didn’t put that one bottle on the table in the first place. He knew how meticulous Mom was about everything being orderly, including family mealtimes!

The one thing I continuously appreciate is the fact that the interview questions really allow the actors or artists to tell us something that we haven't heard in every other standard interview. I find their answers to be genuine and not some publicist approved spiel. They, themselves, tend to always be impressed that the questions aren't, 'why do you love acting,' and then combine that with the searing pain of the hotter wings, they relax and laugh and it just makes for a really good interview.

Heck of an actor right there. I've really loved him in every project he's done, big or small and his choice of roles is incredible. I'm glad Sean brought up the topic of acting without lines, probably referencing Captain America-The Winter Soldier. Seb's portrayal of Winter Soldier made that character truly unsettling, and without having to utter anything. I truly believe that any other actor would have ruined the character. Seb's interviews have ALWAYS been highly entertaining, and this Hot Ones entry has been my favorite. I've always enjoyed "non-celebrity" questions, and pairing Sean and Seb was a treat. He generally seems to be a class act and serious about his craft. I believe that his varied acting choices will eventually lead to an Oscar nomination. Currently enjoying him in Pam & Tommy....watch it, if you have the chance.
