You're right! I don't understand because new F1 Turbo sound so low and boring
@luisangelhernandez854710 жыл бұрын
sereno353 Because with these new engines, exhaust gases are used not only to spin the turbo, but also to generate electricity from heat through the MGU-H, so a further amount of the energy carried by these gases is turned into effective power, instead of ending as waste (sound).
@sereno35310 жыл бұрын
Luis Ángel Hernández It isn't so right that you said, gases aren't use to generate electricity. It would be a contradiction to absorb power, it comes from the braking system. I think lower sound is due by the too long pipes with a single final pipe. Anyway I remember the best turbo sound was by McLaren TAG Porsche Turbo on 1986.
@antoniotavares123110 жыл бұрын
sereno353 actualy the gases are also used to generate electricity(together with,the braking) the turbo spins a generator.
@sereno35310 жыл бұрын
António Tavares Ok, what you want, but the sound is because there is only a single long final pipe. Old turbo engine had twin turbo and two short final pipes.

@Seniku Moonjewel by art do you mean fairly mundane thing?

@Seniku Moonjewel For decades the F1 gearboxes were simple unsynced ones, so to change the gear up you had press on clutch first, put the gear neutral , then release clutch for moment, then press clutch again, switch the gear and then release the clutch. To change gear down you had to press to throttle too during the mid clutch release. That`s why you hear the short roar before curves if you watch the old broadcasts of 60s, 70s and 80s F1 races.

Director should get an award for the opening scene, Ok this is my vision for the opening scene, lets have the former champion and the former teammate of the GOAT Ayrton Senna stand across from each other and when i say action they should walk towards each other and meet up face to face, Then i will have the former champ look at a classic Ferrari that Berger drove and fall in love with the Ferrari so much so that next season he will sign with Ferrari and drive the prancing horse, don't tell anyone but this is nothing more than a stunt to whisper how much he and the Ferrari should be together, the trick here is to have Seb drive the Ferrari and for us to accomplish this under the radar we are going to do it @ the Red Bull Ring so it doesn't look suspicious. We are gonna steal him right from under their nose's. My name is Hamlet & i approve this message

I would like to see the rules opened up more and I think Max in the 00s was correct F1 needs a budget cap for that to happen. I like the engine regs now with the exception of the limited changes they can make to the main components. It means Mercedes will have the best engine for the whole year,
@MyDiabolicoTwin10 жыл бұрын
streamleazefishhouse Definitely, I always believe one of the main spectacles on f1, besides what happened on the tracks, was to learn about design sheets and get amazed on what teams are capable to design to keep performance.

Do you live in rock age or what? These "go-karts" are more than 10s faster than the old cars with less downforce and narrower tires, body and wings. And even in their 1st season they are far more reliable, with 5 or 6 engines for all races and far less tests, than the previous generations of turbo. The world moves forward.
@dolphinsattack7 жыл бұрын
I'd love to see F1 go back to what cars were from 1983 to 1990 with big wide tires at 420mm (18inch wide). The cars then only weighed 1,120 pounds or 508 kilos. But I think the engines should be 1.5 liter inline 4 turbo like the 1983 BMW Brabham BT52. I do believe in technology and science and if that includes fully automatic gear boxes, traction control, active suspension and active aero with ground effects then so be it. The drivers will be able to push the cars to the ultimate edge in a more safer way.

The Flash the Ferrari shown is, as you wrote, the 1988's turbo (pilots were Alboreto and Berger), with gear-box (semi-automatic gear-box was introduced in 1989, along with the V12 engine - pilots: Mansell and Berger). In the mid 90's Ferrari switched to the V10, because the V12, out of the beautiful sound it had, had already reached the maximum developement and was no more able to compete with the Renault unit. In 1985 Alain Prost won the world championship, driving the mythic McLaren TAG Porsche MP 4/2B, if I remember well (Porsche and BMW built up engines that could reach 1300HP and even, as you said, 1500HP, in the qualification version only).
