I saw Lloyd Knibb 2 days before he passed away when he was in the hospital. It was heartbreaking. Lloyd gave free lessons to all of our drummers and he treated me like a son.

@@rudeboyspodcast I remember being on tour in Germany with the Skatalites and Lloyd Knibb always watched my back. It was great that he lived so close to Boston. Sometimes he'd show up at gigs and sit in on Rockfort Rock or Ska Ba with my old group.

Got to tour with the Skatalites bot in the States and in Germany. I saw Lloyd Knibb 3 days before he passed. It was 1 of the saddest days of my life.

It sounds so good, I would not have thought Skatalites sound so tuff in the 90s ! I saw them play in the early 2000s and it was a different line up and I dont recall such quality sound

So did I . I grew up on Ocean View Ave, in Bournemouth Gardens. I attended rehearsals at Bournemouth Club, after kicking the football at the park next-door. Tommy McCook lived on slip-dock road, and Don Drummond had not yet murdered Anita (Marguerita) Mahfood.

It was a music club in Providence Rhode Island Attached to a hotel. The Church House Inn. In the early nineties the Skatalites would do 2 Sets! Between sets would go up to their rooms and recreate and come back down for the second set...amazing at that age .
