Hey Sebby, I currently have three nights booked at the Roku Kyoto for next April and the reviews for it haven’t been the best per se. All of the nights have been booked with FNA, but with that in mind, I am still hesitant to stay. My biggest question is, if happen to know, what would be the average costs for a taxi from the Roku Kyoto into the main part of town? I understand the bus system could be semi-slow as well, which is why I am considering on doing a taxi. However, I have heard that they can be quite costly. Ideally, I would like to stay at the Sowaka, but I have a feeling that it would not be likely. Fingers crossed though. If not the Roku Kyoto, would it be worth it to use the FNA at Hilton Kyoto? I personally would like to maximize my FNAs, but I would still like your opinion on the matter nonetheless. Thank you in advance and I appreciate you uploading a video of the property. I would love to get upgraded to the Garden Onsen room, but being that I will be there mid-April, I am pretty sure my chances are quite low. 😅😅

~$30 USD for a taxi to Roku from downtown Kyoto. Haven't stayed at Sowaka yet. It's on our list for next time!

🌕🌕🌕 Yes, I would book the property to try it out because it looks beautiful and I like the amenities. No harm experiencing them too.

Hot take: the entire point of this channel is to help write off his luxury travel expenses during tax season 😂

Have 3 free night certificates for our japan trip, would you recommend using them here?
@SebbyFungАй бұрын
If you want an escape from the city for 3 days, sure. Otherwise, would probably go for a Conrad in Tokyo or Osaka.

I too was a little nervous about the so-so reviews but went ahead and used our two free night certificates here earlier this month (October 2024). Our Japan itinerary started with two nights at Conrad Tokyo and would end with five nights at Conrad Tokyo so our intention was to stay at this property to decompress and we are so glad we did! We spent most of our two nights on property and really enjoyed our stay (free upgrade to Onsen room similar what's shown in Sebby's video). As for the breakfast, there are far fewer buffet selections than the Conrad Tokyo or Osaka, but we actually preferred the "entrees" (I had the Eggs Benedict and it was delicious) over those at either Conrad. The bar was somewhat disappointing. As long as you aren't using the hotel as a base for sightseeing (given its relatively remote location) I would recommend it. We would definitely stay here again.

Thanks! Nope, too risky for the average person. No financial advice here.
