Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has introduced a new margin system in the stock market to reduce the brokers' risk. In this video, I, Vivek Bajaj will elaborate on the entire margin system introduced by SEBI both in the cash market as well as derivatives market. This video is for all the traders and investors to understand the entire concept of margin and its rules.

I will start off by explaining the concept of margin and its relevance for the brokers and exchange. Then I will move on to explaining the 3 types of margins reserved by the brokers in the cash market:
1. Value at Risk (VAR) Magin
2. Extreme Loss Margin
3. Mark to Market Margin
After covering the cash market margins, I will move on to the margins used in the derivatives market:
1. Initial Margin
2. Exposure Margin
3. Mark to Market Margin
After explaining the different margins, I will explain how you can manage your risk using the concept of Margin Benefit.

SEBI should fixt a margin like 7/10/12 times on intraday equity trade rather than doing this because there are no business without leverage... Risk mera paisa mera mujhey kitna kamana hay aur kitna gawana hay should be my decision, it shouldn't be SEBI's decision. Overall excellent video 🙏👍.

Sir i think over leverage ke karan systematic risk tha , lekin leverage completely khatam kar dena intraday ke liye , ye toh kuch extreme safety measure lene ki baat ho gayi , jo ki small traders ke liye toh sahi nahi lagti. In my honest opinion, current scenario ( intraday 1/2 margin requirement of carry forward margin) margins are ok .

You must file PIL to court against sebi. We have also done it. So that we can make pressure on sebi.

But Risk management k hisab se brokers square off Kar dete hai position once it reaches 80% of the capital, so risk is limited. People are shifting to options which is very risky compared to futures. 25% should be fine of margin.

It does not make any sense if SEBI does not allow leverage in option selling. SEBI may restrict the leverage upto 6x, but completely removing the leverage will not at all be beneficial for retail traders. It's better that retail traders should not participate in intraday trading rather than losing because option buying is like buying a lottery ticket. FIIs and big sharks make money from option selling only. SEBI has brought the rule of peak margin for benefit of big players in stock market. There is so much fluctuation that bank nifty gives 100 to 200 points move up and down within seconds ss big players are now able to speculate the prices in less margin because of reduction in volume in options. In other world markets, the leverage is on.

Sir , Maine June se Market main aaya hoon. Maine kuch book study nahi ki hai you tube main thode viedios dekhe .since June ke bad se market main rally hui to Maine kuch paise kama liye around 10k. Abhi market correction chal raha hai fir bhi thoda bahut kama raha hoon. But aapke learn to trade series se bhut seekhne ko mil raha hai. Concepts use karke Maine NMDC aur BHEL ka breakout bhi decode kiya hai. TATAMOTORS ki range last 3 month ki 284 to 315 isi k beech gum rahi hai. Girth chadhta rahta hai. There is many more things sir. Thanks for your free viedios sir. But still I feel that this is 20% only . A Lot more is there . Abhi main stop-loss aur take profit sahi se nahi seekh paya hoon. Thank you for such a beautiful presentation. Considering a three legged strategy, wherein I buy a future, sell ATM call and buy ATM put, should I adjust by buying options to balance future and call sell? like buy far OTM put- to balance future buy margin; Buy far OTM call to balance call sell margin? since the put buy is auto balanced as per the margin because risk is just the loss of premium.
