In this video, I, Vivek Bajaj will elaborate on the entire margin system introduced by SEBI both in the cash market as well as derivatives market. I will start off by explaining the concept of margin and its relevance for the brokers and exchange. Then I will move on to explaining the 3 types of margins reserved by the brokers in the cash market:
1. Value at Risk (VAR) Magin
2. Extreme Loss Margin
3. Mark to Market Margin
After covering the cash market margins, I will move on to the margins used in the derivatives market:
1. Initial Margin
2. Exposure Margin
3. Mark to Market Margin
After explaining the different margins, I will explain how you can manage your risk using the concept of Margin Benefit.
