Sebs, ..No smoke Machines, no costume changes, no backup dancers...Just the Boss and the Band and just look at the energy this man puts out. You will never be disappointed watching him. I have seen him several times and believe me there is no one who puts on a show like Bruce. His love of performing is genuine...you can see and feel it radiate throughout the arena.

Interview with Bruce after 911, he told the story of walking on the beach the day after 911 when a man walked past him on the shore. As the man passed him, the man said “We need you now, Bruce.” Bruce said that was what got him back in the studio at that time. We hadn’t really had any new Bruce music in a bit. His return on The Rising album was momentous. And that man on the beach was absolutely right.

You picked the exact perfect performance to highlight this soul stirring song. They are in Barcelona about a year after 9/11 touring The Rising album, largely the Boss's reaction to the aftermath of the tragedy. Perfect song to open the concert. Amazing audience, most of whom we can assume do not have English as their primary language, but they are singing EVERY single word back to him, old and new songs alike. That's the impact he and the E Street Band have globally. And remember - he's in his 50's at the time of this concert. You really need to do yourself a favor and watch the ENTIRE concert video. You really can' t appreciate the Springsteen experience without seeing a concert. Highlight to look for is Mary's Place.

I went to see this tour here in Toronto. Although we are 1 1/2 hour flight from New York all of our downtown was evacuated and the skies grew silent. Awful day for New York. This was a great song for that aftermath

100% agree that you’ve gotta do the whole concert! In my opinion the best ones from this concert are •The Rising •Prove it All Night •You’re Missing •Badlands •Mary’s Place •Dancing in the Dark •Born to Run •Thunder Road (my absolute favorite)

@ Great recommendations. I would add Land of Hope and Dreams and Waiting on a Sunny Day. The only thing that would have made the concert perfect would be including Jungle Land. That was a surprising omission. But I guess you have to make some cuts when there’s so much material to choose from. At least they did include Thunder Road. Perfect closer.

The lyrics describe the firemen called to respond to the attack on the towers on 9/11 (on my back a 60 lb stone, on my shoulder, half mile of line), and who died trying to save others. This song, and really, the whole album gave me hope after the devastating aftermath of that soul crushing day - hope and peace in the belief that those souls who lost their physical lives in that tragic attack instantly ascended to a love and peace-filled afterlife. ❤

This Barcelona concert is one of the best live concerts you will ever see. Nobody is more engaging with his audience than Bruce. Check out My City of Ruins for a moving, rousing revival experience. Mary's Place is a fantastic upbeat party song that involves the whole band and Bruce puts on a show. The rest of that concert is filled with outstanding Springsteen songs as well.

I was fortunate to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on The Rising tour. It was the soulful vibe we all needed after the shock of 9/11. His live performance at the New Orleans Jazz Fest of My City of Ruins from The Rising album is worth watching. It was just after Katrina. Very moving and hopeful. ❤

I was fortunate to see Bruce & the E Street Band on The Rising tour in Dec 2002. It was just over a year after 9/11 and I remember how much we needed that tour at that time. That concert was the first big event I attended after that horrific Tuesday.

Thunder Road please give it a listen. I was very young when Bruce and the band grabbed me hard. The man says more in 1 song than most do in a lifetime. I'm now 63, seen well over 200 concerts in my time and nobody tops their shows, nobody. So give it a listen and let me know. Hello, Springsteen is one of my favorite artists but this album is really disturbing because the imagery is so vague and even dark at times, it makes me feel very uneasy, there is definitely elements of confusion and in spiritual matters, it is deadly, it is the way of damnation and using religious symbols is no game! You're messing with God's truth and the devil's lies and most popular artists will feed the dark side, popularity comes at a price and it is eternal. Either you worship and serve the true God or it is, by defaut, idolatry, sin and damnation!

Remember he brought up politics not us, what a shame he let this ruin his career. I was a massive Springsteen fan, in fact they were the first concert I ever saw. But now I look at his music with disapointment of the person he has become. From his drunk driving, cheating on 2 wives and now his sell out of his music intergrity to corporate America? He has gone from rallying against apartheid to supporting a party that represses black people. To me he is the Bill Cosby of music.
