Van Morrison's recording career spans nearly seven decades. He is is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter & can play guitar, harmonica, keyboards & saxophone. In the mid 60's he was in the band "THEM" & their biggest hits were "Gloria", "Baby Please Don't Go", "Here Comes The Night" & "Mystic Eyes". Van Morrison later went solo & has had tons of hits such as "Brown Eyed Girl", "It Stoned Me", "Into The Mystic", "Moondance", "Crazy Love", "Jackie Wilson Said", "Days Like This" etc.

He is often called Van "The Man". This is a good example why! If Ali comes home after a particularly bad day, a big hug and slow dance to this in the background. Watch all those troubles melt away. You need to follow this song with another artist. Chris Stapleton and his song Tennessee Whiskey. It's another love song like this one.

Van Morrison is a complete artist, songwriter, singer and performer who's been recording since the '60's. During which he started with three different bands ('64 - '66) and then in his solo career. From Gloria, Moondance, Have I Ever Told You That I Love You. Check out Philosopher's Stone. There are too many to name, but his catalog is an amazing trove of richness. His live performances are a delight.

Never play this enough. One of the greatest! There was a time 20 years ago when several hit RomCom movies all emphasized the identical Van Morrison song (Someone Like You)! How many bands or soloists have ever done that? He's the people's favorite as well as the critics. When my mom died, a Van Morrison song was covered in the 1990s by a singer who screams rather than sings; but the song is so touching and the lyrics so sublime, it was a monster hit anyway (Have I Told You Lately that I Love You).

The feels this song gives me with 0 context is next level. Fun fact, Van was a huge fan of "the band" and vice versa. Robbie robertson of the band was especially a fan. The band did a going away concert in '76 called the last waltz and had a young Martin scorsese directed the legendary concert. Robbie and Scorsese became close so close that almost every Scorsese movie track was done by Robbie. Tupelo honey was Robbie and Scorseses song, they played it each time they said goodbye to eachother. Robbie passed away in August of 2023 and Scorsese said "I won't be playing that one anymore".

If I have a favorite artist, it would have to be Van Morrison. He sings like a Hammond B3, and hes even better live. Ive seen this guy more times than I can remember, sometimes so drunk that he could hardly stand but he never lost his voice, this guy has never written a bad song or made a bad recording, not even in the 80s with fake drums and shitty over-production, the overall brutally high quality of this mans work is just out of this world.
