My husband is half russian, he's from Moscow. My time there was probably one of the happiest moments of my entire life. That city has so many of my favourite memories. He proposed to me in Moscow, I found out I was pregnant in Moscow, I took my business to Moscow. It's one of my favourite cities.

I moved to Russia - best move I ever made! Advantages: great GMO-free food (which made me healthier - I can walk now without limping), very fair tax system (I pay 6% up to a certain threshold, after which it's bumped up to 13%), reasonable prices (with some exceptions, like goods imported from the west), low crime (I haven't heard of a single person being shot or a single home invasion). I sold up everything in the "west" (a house in Seattle, and an apartment in London), bought some land in Anapa, then built a hotel. Best thing I ever did!!! In my humble opinion, Russia is the new land of opportunity 😉

Watching everyone step on to the bus, I always have to tap the snow of my boots or I would go slipping, sliding and falling on my behind! I like that same flat you like for 48 000 at 4:47 . That fits you perfectly Lisa! Love those kitchen cabinets and nice bath too! The rest of that flat is very nice and cozy! Glad you enjoyed the Metro and it's also cool that you can check out the binder books to read from that station. I saw other Vlogs touring the Metro, but this is the first time seeing this particular station. Glad to see how Russian and U.S. citizens have a similar middle class of people, living a normal life taking the bus to go to work and just to get around, though I would feel more safe in Moscow then in Detroit while taking the city bus. 😁 I look forward to your next adventures around Moscow, taking walks and the Metro Lisa! @@bloop_dloop Why would I care if your bus is in a traffic jam? Its all the concept of local laws and how people should be conducting themselves like adults and not like unruly children, as we can witness in some videos posted on You tube. We know that most cities are not perfect, but it's nice to see how people conduct themselves in Moscow, as they are courteous to one another. They are not trying to run everyone over to be first. I have witnessed this kind of mentality all my life here in the U.S. major cities, just by a certain culture of people who moved here from another country and feel they are entitled like its a competition and when you try to correct them for having a rude attitude, they just get more escalated and then bystanders just watch like cowards, not wanting to get involved, but just stare or walk away instead standing up for what is right in presenting oneself in a public place or on public transportation. Most people in the U.S. who still practice courtesy live far away in the country, away from the major cities. We call them old school folks with good family values! If there are any people left in world who practice courtesy, is sadly becoming more and more extinct.
@fitzpatrickgf
@fitzpatrickgf Жыл бұрын
@r.w.emersonii3501 I agree! Investors want a return in profits! It's a risk when they have to study the Demographics of a major city to where they can and can not profit. Investors are not playing the nice contributer to help people in deprived and oppressed places, which a socialist government tends to always do by stepping up to the camera and say, we are going to take your tax dollars and invest in these places, compared to a Capitalist Govenment has to recruit investors to pay for it, not raise taxes. The U.S. is Trillions of Dollars in Debt because we keep handing the reigns of power over from a conservative administration who have lots of investor friends back over to the non- conservatives who just raise the debt limit to borrow more money from the U.S. treasury, to continue being reckless with their spending, because they do not have any Investors or friends, worrying they will be taxed to death in the end! Instead, the Liberals put out 2 year contracts in hopes they will see a return and use it in their next election campaign. The economy is doing well, but in most cases it fails! W can see today in the U.S. economy and country is quickly floundering under the Liberal Democratic Biden Administration.

Common sense in the USA? I haven't seen any common sense since the Nov 8, 2020 insurrection. In the US 1+1now equals 3, men have babies then chest feed them, all white people are racist bad people, children are game for adult relationships and Putin is the devil. There, I summed up the Biden administration. Hopefully that will change if we are allowed a free fair election this time. Sure, you will hear the media complain that Trump is Putin's buddy but don't be deceived, the US government hates Trump because he's anti-war. NATO aggression to the east could have been easily stopped but NATO choses war every time. This is why they cannot get people to join the military and are considering a draft. Sorry to politicize this post Lisa with Love but we're sick of our corrupt government in America.

It's the same ordinary wage slave life as in all "developed" countries. Much better to live in your own house in a small village and work from home. I have been to Russia many times and it's higher status to live in a cell block there, then live in a wood house. If you are rich, you live in a mansion in Russia too. When you fly over Moscow you will be amazed of the sizes of private houses in some areas. They are bigger and more extravagant then in Los Angeles. I will never live in USA again, but I would love to live in Russia.

There are plenty of modern, mostly gated communities in Russia with townhomes and single-family homes that have all the amenities, unlike wooden homes in villages. Many people sell their apartments in big cities and move to single-family homes in the suburbs with cleaner air and less traffic.
@mossig
@mossig Жыл бұрын
@@marias5088 Yes; I heard that prices of single family homes went up due to Covid restrictions. Nobody wants to be locked up in a small apartment. As for wood houses I have seen them renovated inside to very nice standards. Typical Russian way it looks a lot better inside apartments then outside even in old Soviet apartment blocks.

Big cities in Russia are usually safer than remote villages and have better schools, clinics, and a very good transportation system, but no matter where you live in Russia (except for where the white bears live, lol), you can have pretty much anything delivered to your door, including home-cooked meals (hot soup, for example) and groceries and doctors do FREE house calls even for a simple cold. Grocery stores are literally everywhere in Russia. In Moscow, where my dad lives, no matter where you live, you have 7-10 grocery stores located within a 0.5-2-mile radius of your apartment building, and many of the stores are located on the main floor of apartment buildings. I am in America, and we live 25 miles from the capital of my state. I can't have any groceries delivered to my door (we live in a nice neighborhood). My nearest store, Coborns, is a 7-10-minute drive from my house. If you don't have a car or get sick in my neighborhood, all you can order is junk food. Healthcare here is horrible. I have two disabled boys because of our healthcare, my older disabled son is 20, born and raised in America. I wish I never made this mistake of moving here.

If we talk about the capital, DKI Jakarta is one of the cities that is too densely populated. In fact, the land surface continues to fall due to excessive groundwater extraction. And flooding is still a problem that cannot be completely resolved. In fact, sea levels continue to rise on the north coast of Jakarta, so there were plans to reclamation of artificial islands To stem sea water, this project was stopped for environmental reasons. Currently there is only 1 artificial island resulting from reclamation. And the plan is for the country's capital to move this year to the island of Kalimantan for equitable development, although recently this massive project has come under scrutiny again, especially funding issues.
