This is indeed old but still running, and that's the main point of this video. If you're Russian, or from the former Soviet union maybe you have a hard time to get why this is so interesting for us, and not seen as "bad" in many western countries. This train is 40 years old and still rolling, for cheap, proof that during the USSR era, infrastructures were built to be to last, to be reliable, and also cheap and easy to maintain, because the priority was to serve the common good for a fair price. This is something already unthinkable in most of our western capitalist countries, for example in mine, France, all the budget went to a High Speed Train (>250 km/h), that is a technical marvel but that many families still can't afford, because the tickets are way too expensive, even 40 years after ! I may be wrong but to me Vasilisa understands exactly why and how this "Soviet Nostalgia" has something appealing to us, foreign westerners. Because we can find good legacies in both side of the iron curtain, probably... ...but it's her channel !... so I may be wrong 😅

Vorkuta is definitely way up North. I was half expecting you to go to Murmansk. From Vorkuta, I wonder if it is possible to travel by car to the Northern Coast? Right up the top there are some Gas processing facilities. To the East is of course, The beautiful Northern Urals. I bet there are some tours that can be taken into those mountains? It's very wild up there. I'm really fascinated in these really remote places. So many of Russia's Gas facilities are in very remote spots. It must be quite the experience to work there. I worked in The North Sea and that was remote up past The Shetland Islands.
