When the variables in a function cannot be easily seperated, it is handy to differentiate inplicitly.

Agreed, the negative sign not being absorbed here and not using parentheses in his logarithmic differentiation problems felt like driving without my seatbelt. Excellent teacher though ... I binge watch this stuff. 😂

I differentiated the logarithm of the first derivative. Not quite as complicated as the quotient rule but the result is the same.
