This video is really helpful. I want to add a piece of advice to brides. Sometimes one dress in not enough. I would say that a bride would love to be in 2 different dresses. That is what I am going to do. The second one is not that expensive, but it will be almost the opposite to the first one. And this is how my heart knows: I have done it all for my bridal look.

This is exactly why I don't have any photos of me in my dress on my phone! I didn't want anyone to accidentally see them and I don't want to criticize how I look in it. My mom has a photo but I have never seen it once. But I have photos of my dress and I couldn't be happier.

Also thank you for highlighting zooming into the dress. I realised that everything affects a bridal look. Make up, hair, the light in the store. And when a girl finds a dress of her dreams, she is still not in the look of her dreams. And I love how you always say that a dress is not an item of clothing. It becomes our second skin and lives with us. So I can’t wait for the wind and the daylight to play with my veil and to add to the look.

I had wedding dress regret right after I purchased as soon as I saw a photo… the bridal salon had a strict no photo policy, until you said yes. So once the purchase was being rung up and my sister showed me the photos I immediately was super concerned and almost backed out in the salon but I was embarrassed and kept trying to convince myself it was fine. Also the price was great. furthermore, my fiancé had made comments that he would love to see me in more of a “princess gown”.. so I went with an A line. He also said no matter what you get you’ll look perfect, but that little comment sort of effected my decision making subconsciously. I also felt pressured that it was the 4th bridal salon and I didn’t want to make my mom and sister shop around anymore. My dress came in tonight and after trying it, I really don’t feel my best or love it. Again, trying to convince myself that I’ll somehow love it after alterations 😢 I just want to feel beautiful on my wedding day and don’t know what to do at this point. Wedding is June 2nd 2023.

I'm sorry to hear this, Lisa. My recommendation would be to not alter it yet. Shop around to see if you find something you feel beautiful in, and sell the dress you currently have online to recover funds. That would be my best advice so you can walk down the aisle in a gown you love and feel beautiful in. I hope that helps, and I wish you the best of luck and a remarkable wedding day! 💜

I'm only having a wedding ceremony and no reception. I went dress shopping alone to not have anyone influence what I want.

I have brought 5 dresse 😂 ok the original choice I made I 100% love which is a Ballgown one, but have since brought a couple of a line dresses and a princess cut. It was only after I tried on at home I realised my initial choice would be hard to move around in and it began to make me worry. I’ve ordered my shoes and I’m going to my bridesmaids house to try everything on again and make sure it’s practical as well as beautiful !

I figure I can use at least 2 out of the six, one for the ceremony and one for the after party 😅 also I want to be able to ask my mums opinion because she didn’t get to come with me

Can you do a video about 2nd dress/reception dress options?
@WeddingFashionExpert3 жыл бұрын
Hi Laura, of course! Is there something in specific you want to learn about 2nd dresses/reception dress options?
@marriedinvegas2023 Жыл бұрын
@@WeddingFashionExpert I would love to see a video on reception dresses too! The Morilee dress I said yes to this week is stunning, but sooooooo heavy and I recall how sweaty my legs were after taking it off. I feel like a princess in it and I want to wear it as long as I can, but I don't know how much dancing I'll be able to do in it (I anticipate it being a workout for sure, hahaha). Do bridal stores typically offer reception dresses, and if not, where do you recommend shopping for one? Or should I get a lighter weight simpler wedding gown just for the reception? I wasn't initially planning on needing one, but I know I'm gonna be really crabby if I'm overheating, lol. Thanks so much for your super helpful channel!

This is my struggle. I bought a dress and it’s beautiful but I’m not sure it’s the one! I got wrapped up in the emotion and felt pressured by my audience to purchase and I just said okay when I really should’ve stepped away for a moment and came back. I’m gonna take a break and go shopping in May and then again in July. I won’t purchase another gown until July

Hi Alanna, this, unfortunately, does happen. I think what you're doing is smart. It is a great idea to take a break for a moment and come re visit with a clear mind and try not to think about anyone else. Just you and your own thoughts to pick the next dress. It's going to be great!!

Hi!!! Did you do a video on accessories for a plain satin dress?
@WeddingFashionExpert2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I haven't specifically done this yet, but it is on my list to create one! (Subscribe and turn on alerts to my channel to get notified when it publishes!) In the meantime - the most beautiful thing is that you can style a plain satin dress however it feels the most natural and beautiful to you. It is a blank canvas to make your own! :)

I’m regretting my wedding dress due to not feeling beautiful and having a horrible experience with David’s bridal. My wedding is in April and I feel hopeless. Unfortunately, I can’t return the dress because the seamstress cut the tag off and alterations were never even done on my dress! I have an appointment at another bridal shop and I feel so worried that I won’t find anything. Sigh.

I'm so sorry! This happens often and the best suggestion I can give you is to try to sell the dress you have now and purchase a new on that you do feel beautiful in! Let me know how it goes and if you have any other questions!

I was not expecting your reply. Thank you. I did find another dress and it’s arriving next month. It’s very beautiful and the designer is Maggie Sottero.

I had a second thought about my dress too, bc it was too hard for me to find a perfect black dress, i bought a dress from a company i love the most, and change it as the style i love. But the cost to alter it is really expensive so i felt a little bit guilty and regret. But my husband keeps telling me that its my dream, he believes i choose the dress for the reason, he knows exactly which color and i style i want (bc im obsessed with wedding dresses and talk about them all the time), he keeps telling me to follow my dream and a little bit out of budget smt worth it. Ur video is really helpful, thank u

My concern is how my dress will hold my larger bust up once altered. It's a simple design (Justin Alexander sincerity line), with an uncovered back and open sides... I wear D cups and I'm wondering if the salesperson told me the truth when she said that everything would hold up once the dress was altered...
@WeddingFashionExpert Жыл бұрын
With the proper seamstress and alterations, it should be possible! There are so many ways in which to accommodate. However, a large part of it is your own personal comfort so communication and key and trusting the process. :) Wishing you a remarkable wedding!!

My biggest wedding dress regret is choosing a beautiful dress but it wasn’t suitable for my body type. I have a medium, curvy, and hourglass figure and chose an A-line dress with an open chest that showed a lot of cleavage. If I would go back I would definitely choose a more fitted dress to enhance my body shape. I felt terrible about my body after the wedding. I still regret it 😭
