Thanks for the mention Fred, I like the sound of boulder creek, very intriguing! As to the DIY it's my own fault for living on the forth road bridge, just when you think you've finished you have to start all over again 🤔
@wildfisher2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, DIY can seriously cut into fishing time. There really needs to be a DIY close-season to protect anglers. I'd suggest 1st January to 31st December - both dates inclusive. 😁

Another great one Fred, and you even got a fish. It is great to hear your thoughts on what you are doing, or what you are going to do, as that puts the actual fishing action in perspective and lets me understand what is going on.

Thanks Philip, glad you found it interesting. We can all learn from each other. I am developing a knack for blethering that I was not even aware I had. 😁

hi Fred and nice to see you on the river again , not bad weather in mid wales in fact so dry levels are at summer low but few hatches comming along however fish aren't interested and after three days out I probably saw 5-6 rises in all and nymphing no better still maybe it's a bit early yet.
@wildfisher2 жыл бұрын
The weather does seem to be better the farther south you are in the UK, but the water temperatures are the important thing. Once they warm up a bit things should improve. 👍

Lovely video again sir if you get one fish it's a bonus especially this time of year still getting frost round Glasgow just now its mild this morning but was frosty yesterday
@wildfisher2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Yes it has been very changeable. Over here the cold east wind has plagued us for weeks.

Super video , I fished loch Braden in south Ayrshire today talk about boulder creek , it was like walking in a quarry ,bigger boulders I have yet to see treacherous was an under statement.
@wildfisher2 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it. I was unsure whether or not to bother posting it. Even getting that wee fish was a struggle. These small rivers see to suffer more from wild temperature fluctuations than the bigger rivers. Other I know have had some fine fish on the Tay and The Clyde. 😊

@@wildfisher here in the south west my local river is unfishable due to lack of water , but there’s always the lochs, which I have been having some success, but come on the rain.

@@robertgreen5217 not fished loch bradon in years is it still worth a try.do they still have boats on it it wasn't the boulders when I fished it it was the tree stumps that were treacherous

There you are. Been wondering when you were going to put a new video up. I was surprised too, when , after a great start to the year, we had snow and hail for days. I suppose I should have expected it, it is Scotland after all.
@wildfisher2 жыл бұрын
Aye, just the Scotland we know and love. It happens every year. Anyway, just fine to get out again, hopefully things will warm up a wee bit quite soon. 🙂

Hi Fred, can i ask, say the nearest foot or two to the hook,do you float that section or sink it. Love your Videos, tight lines
@wildfisher2 жыл бұрын
Depends. Generally I don't bother and in streamy water I don't think it makes much difference. However on flat glassy surfaces I will try to sink the tippet if I'm getting refusals. Thanks for your kind comment about the videos. 🙂
