Very well explained! Thank you! Your detailed description makes it easier to understand how the knob and switch work. Now I know what to do if I get in a freeflow situation or I am about to get into one. A few seconds before the freeflows that I experienced, I heard a hissing sound from the regulator. I believe that by adjusting either the switch, the knob or both, I'd be able to prevent the freeflow.

Some regulators come with a feature that keeps the purge button slightly depressed, so when you store it, there's no pressure on the rubber seat. Hence, extending the life of the seat.

vibration noise comes from my second stage regulator when breathing it on dry land when hooked up to a scuba tank is this something normal ? I just brought a new kit, does this happen because it's not under water that it vibrate ? Thank you.

Hi Rocky. I've had perfectly functioning regs do that. I'm willing to live with that noise unless there are other symptoms. However, as always, if you have any doubts, take to a service pro to let them have a look.
