@@Isteyak-78 It's a bit more complicated than that. It depends on how pro Palestine a person is or how pro socialist a person is. If your pro Palestine stance let's say to charge Israel with genocide and end settlers in west bank then you can be both pro Palestine and not anti Israel but if you are absolute pro Palestine and think Israel is illegal state then you can't be both. Same way if you think we need education and healthcare publicly funded then you can be called pro socialist on like 5-10% of sectors while wanting a vast majority capitalist state/society thus not anti capitalist. To sum up if you are too pro something then you are by reason anti the opposite of that thing but if you don't take a strong stance then you can support some parts of both sides

iirc people online were making a fuss over a comment jt made on the deprogram podcast, i think it was something along the lines of there are no civilians in occupied palestinian territory because those people are occupiers, most likely referencing how those people had to steal palestinian homes through violence and in jt's opinion that probably disqualified them from being treated as neutral bystanders. nobody knows exactly what nebula asked of him, but from what he says it sounds like they wanted him to backpedal on that which would basically mean saying something or other in defense of israeli settlers.

Hey guys, had a subscription for two years, it's relatively cheap compared to all other private-structured streaming platforms, a lot of documentaries and content I wouldn't have come across if it wasn't for Means' capacity to partner with the creators in a more true co-op form, they can also fund/produce documentaries if a director comes with a captivating plan. Know what you are purchasing, if you love subversive animation, general leftist content and documentaries on relevant subjects, then this will be what you want. If you want your favorite Hollywood stars, plenty of other places that can provide it for you.

That's the thing with bourgeois-minded "science". They (consciously or unconsciously) justify the current oppresive system and its results by hiding behind the veil of "impartiality". Anything that falls out of that line is tagged as "radical" and "one-sided", when it is them that miss the forest for the trees, trapped in a purely positivist (and static)- approach that fails to capture the fluid dynamics that rule the universe. Why it's important to study dialectical materialism to be aware of those limitations.
@a_d_a_m9 ай бұрын
I’d be very interested to hear your thoughts some day on whether you honestly think *any* sociopolitical system will escape eventual corruption if we don’t first address basic human consciousness issues. I don’t believe it’s possible 🤷🏻♂️
@andremaltez44215 күн бұрын
I doubt anyone can answer that with 100% certainty, but reforming capitalism has already proven impossible. Not that it ever had a chance, as Marx and Engels explained already 175 years ago. What would give a (true) communist society a much greater chance is the fact that it would be built "for the people, by the people", not out of an idealised principle but of a material necessity to advance the system (the other alternative is "barbarism", e.g. fall of the Roman Empire). Lenin, if I recall correctly, proposed that all the workers would need to eventually participate in the bureaucracy during the "dictatorship of the proletariat" phase and that any officials would need to be elected and could be immediately recalled, for example. As I understand it, the main change in concsiousness that a (again, true) socialist system will bring about, which will be in stark opposition to all of the previous sociopolitical systems, is that the need and therefore the motivation and justification for personal gain will be abolished under a society that has as an objective to provide "from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs". Humans are coopearative by nature, we wouldn't have survived in the African savanah if we were the "homo economicous" that we are said to be by the Capitalist theoreticians. The reason why you see crime and violence are dominant in marginalised and deprived countries and communities is not a lack of "civilization" but rather of resources, which are abundant in wealthy suburbs and countries, where you don't see people trying to gain the upper hand on their neighbors other than when chasing for more profits, as per the current system's requirements.
