We are having freezing rain and snow today. Literally everything in our little city of 57500 people is closed, the police are instructing people to stay home and watch Black Bear Forge on KZbin. OK, so I read between the lines. I am more than happy to oblige. Thank you #BlackBearForge.

I feel that i need to say something here... first cool hooks, i love hook of the week and cant wait to get back to my shop! 2. The ART of these hooks, the videos, the music and most of all the rhythmic hammering is getting my 9 month old daughter to sleep so fast that i can't thank you enough!!!!! She goes to sleep in my arms and i watch the video to the end end then put her in a crib... BEST STUFF EVER!

Glad to see it wasn't only me that found scrolling with a piece sticking out the middle a little tricky. I recently did a candlestick with a scrolled base, with the stick coming up from the centre like that hook. Turned out ok, but was similarly fiddly.

The hook from last week and this hook are both nice, but to me it seems obvious that they are a set and should be sold together. They just look so nice together. So balanced.

Very cool! I've been trying to work out what that ball end reminds me of all week, I think it's a type of seed pod of possibly a fruit........ mabey a blueberry and the indented bit is where the flower head used to be. This hook has me thinking along the various shapes you would find on sheet music, namely a quaver. It might be fun to do a load of hooks themed on sheet music 🤔👍👍👍👍👍

Morning, John. I agree this one is more aesthetic. Also, thinking TOTALLY outside the box, how about ball ends in both the center of the spiral AND the 'other' end, and mount @ a 90° orientation for a side × side double hook? EDIT: Even go so far as making a 'mirrored' pair.

@BrianDaleNeeley4 жыл бұрын
When you were straightening & twisting the top spiral, I thought it was be neat to go the other way; pull it out a bit to make a hat & coat hook. But it still looks good, and could be just another "twist" to the hundred identical hooks all different for the craft table. I was wondering if you thought a banana hanger would qualify as a hook? I don't know if I have ever seen a banana keeper (or hanger, or hook; it seems I have seen all names used) in steel. I seem to have a vague recollection of Roy Adams doing one, but he has shown all kinds of things, and it may just be me getting my wires crossed. Just another idea to throw into the pool of hook-of-the-week ideas.

I was a little surprised when you put a small hook on the “top.” I sort of expected you’d have the hook come out of the large coil, but that you’d put another ball on the top end and bend it out as a hat hook. The lower hook would be a coat hook. In fact, I think that would be a very good looking style of hook.

My collection of tongs is no where near the largest I have ever seen. They tend to be somewhat specific to certain tasks, so its always good to have a large variety.
