The third part of Dr. Taimur Rahman's series on feminism. This episode covers second-wave western feminism. Be forewarned, this is a lecture for adults. If you are easily triggered (for religious or ideological reasons) by discussions of sexuality, this video is not recommended for you.
What I have shown in this lecture is the manner in which feminism distinguished itself from the socialist position on women's rights. It begins with the works of Margaret Mead, and Beauvoir and continues through Friedan, Steinem, and Firestone, and ends with a brief discussion of Dworkin and the feminist sex wars.
I hope you find it educational.
This is Part 2 of Videos on Second Wave Feminism in the "What is Feminism?" Series.
