80 years ago, with the threat of invasion very real, the British government raised the Local Defence Volunteers, later known as the Home Guard.
Inspired by our contemporary artillery collection at Fort Nelson, and the Fort’s historic role supplying Anti-aircraft batteries on the South Downs, meet the LDV’s newest and most enthusiastic recruit.
