The Bolsheviks, also known in English as the Bolshevists, was a faction founded by Vladimir Lenin and Alexander Bogdanov that split from the Menshevik faction of the Marxist Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (RSDLP) at its Second Party Congress in 1903. The RSDLP was a revolutionary socialist political party formed in 1898 in Minsk to unite the various revolutionary organisations of the Russian Empire into one party.
The Bolsheviks were by 1905 a major organization consisting primarily of workers under a democratic internal hierarchy governed by the principle of democratic centralism. They considered themselves the leaders of the revolutionary working class of Russia. Their beliefs and practices were often referred to as Bolshevism.

Bolshevik, juga dikenal dalam bahasa Inggris sebagai Bolshevists, adalah sebuah faksi yang didirikan oleh Vladimir Lenin dan Alexander Bogdanov yang memisahkan diri dari faksi Menshevik dari Partai Buruh Sosial Demokrat Rusia (RSDLP) di Kongres Partai Kedua pada tahun 1903. RSDLP adalah sebuah partai politik sosialis revolusioner dibentuk pada tahun 1898 di Minsk untuk menyatukan berbagai organisasi revolusioner Kekaisaran Rusia menjadi satu partai.
Kaum Bolshevik pada 1905 adalah sebuah organisasi besar yang terutama terdiri dari pekerja di bawah hierarki internal demokratis yang diatur oleh prinsip sentralisme demokratis. Mereka menganggap diri mereka pemimpin kelas buruh revolusioner Rusia. Keyakinan dan praktik mereka sering disebut sebagai Bolshevisme.
