Honestly, if you truly want to take out Superman, then you should use something like a nuclear bomb that releases pure gas kryptonite, along with spiky metal shards that explode on contact and sharp blade like kryptonite, shards as well. That would definitely kill him. And just to be on the safe side, you drop 4 such nukes on him in a row all at once so he could not escape.

I am tired of seeing Superman play second fiddle to Bats. Too many plot armour in the movie to favour Batman. Again, if Superman is easily affected by everything (except kryptonite of course) why then is he invulnerable? We have seen the likes of Thor, Hulk etc who are equally invulnerable and these type of things don't affect them. Too much plot armour in the story to make Supes look like a real jerk otherwise, it's a nice plot especially the part that got Clark feeling jealous.
