Sawing off the barrel doesn't increase velocity but does widen then shot spread. It just makes it so you don't have to aim as carefully at close range

Btw for buckshot if there’s no items on the board then statistically speaking it always makes the most sense to shoot the dealer regardless of what’s in the gun, otherwise you’re just taking the dealer’s turn for him and creating more unnecessary opportunities to take damage. Y’all should definitely play the endless mode since there’s even more interesting items to deal with and it’s very engaging, would love to see a review on the channel eventually :)

It took me embarrassingly long to realise this Otherwise on 99 blanks, 1 live you sit there shooting yourself 98 times before saying "aha, now it's 50/50" edit: and at 39:00 they do exactly that, I am no longer embarrassed

It’s not an old version, the new items are just locked to endless mode. I assume it’s meant to keep the normal mode as a good introduction without being too overwhelming.

Been wanting to watch Buckshot Roulette vids but I like playing short games blind, so I just quick ran through it. My luck always aligned with the odds, to the point that I thought the randomization was an illusion, and that you actually had control as long as you payed attention. Nope, half of the vids im watching now have the exact same decision making I used, but are just extremely unlucky. Super neat game, I bought it alongside Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom, thanks for keeping good indies on my radar!

Well to be fair you “die” you can clearly see you lose a defibrillator charge and if you run out of them you still die in the first 2 rounds and definitely do in the third round.

Not sure I care for Buckshot's RNG and illusion of strategy. It always comes down to 50/50 in the end.
@Zepumpkineater7 ай бұрын
The strategy is all about maximizing your damage output while minimizing your damage intake. Things typically coming down to 50/50 is just a part of that strategy, as you can work with that knowledge and plan around it. It makes more sense when items like the Inverter are introduced, which allow you to change the round in the chamber from a live to a blank or a blank to a live.
@abloogywoogywoo7 ай бұрын
@@Zepumpkineater 50/50 is bad, its about luck and chance then, either you get dealer, or he gets you, there should be ways to prevent this if you play smart, but there isn't when you're evenly matched.
@Ronin777z7 ай бұрын
The game is about maximizing the odds in your favour with items. Sure you might still get screwed by rng but if you really know what you’re doing you will be able to win 90% of the time Same applies to poker but you wouldn’t call that bad would you?
@Fluffy_the_Destroyer7 ай бұрын
@@abloogywoogywoo I agree that the random element can be frustrating, but just because a mechanic is chance based doesn't mean it can't have strategy. The items, obviously, but there can be strategy in probability, too. The game is kind of a series of iterations on the Monty Hall problem. Plus, saying it's a 50-50 chance every time, while true in a broad sense, is reductive. The game tells you your new odds each round. If there were, say, 4 shells and 3 live rounds, and the first one you used was a blank, then the remaining three don't each have a 50/50 chance of being live - they all have a 100% chance of being live. And sure, you and your dealer have the same powers, but complaining about that is like complaining that there's no way to get an edge up on your opponent in a game of poker because you're both using the same deck. The point is to keep track of a resource that you and your opponent share, and victory is influenced by who can better manage that resource. But then, not everybody like poker.
