Disinformation spread by the SAS in order to maintain ultra top secret super for reals Uber secret clearance for all their “Operators” (In quotes because no Tier 1 Unit member would ever say Operator unless they were skilled with the telephone). Disinformation is a real skill but but this is just a joke because MW is a cool game but not realistic as that would not make for a fun game. SAS are and always have been a top tier unit but there is no requirement to serve 5 years with a waiver much like the 18X contract for USARSF. Extremely difficult but attainable. Again, just chiming in for fun and only a casual gamer but full time soldier that enjoys the campaign but gets destroyed anytime online by probably anyone reading this. Also a friendly guy who has trained on that side of the pond and worked with the rarely mentioned Aussies and Kiwi’s that are SAS as well.......God save the Queen. Haven’t had the chance to play this game yet but just got home and will give it a go. All you operators take it easy on each other and especially me if I ever get online and keep enjoying the games.

Alex maybe was the guy that was shot by Makarov during the "No Russian" mission. Remember the guy was shot but was not killed, also at the end of that mission the guy was discovered by Russian SWAT's dictating that he was captured, healed, and interrogated for questioning during the war. Also during one of the mission intro's Alex was said to be KIA but no evidence was shown by Sheperd. Hence why alex doesn't want to be associated with the American government due to what he had experience. We never know, but he might have been released after the war and was contacted by Price and his group after which he changed his name from Joseph Allen to Alex.

The reason he doesn’t want to be associated with the US is if Alex is SAD SOG he goes on Covert and Clandestine missions the US government doesn’t want to be connected to whether he’s caught or not. So he’ll use weapons from whatever country he’s operating in and avoid wearing anything that will identify him as an American soldier. If he’s caught on those types of missions the US will deny who he is and what he was tasked with doing and no one will come rescue him.
