0:32 I really like how light the higher chords are played; it's like you're tugging at my heart strings 0:45 Playing the chorus using different octaves is such a cool way to show the different characters' singing voices 1:32 killing me with these soft notes 1:52 I'm tearing up thinking about all the fun times they had with menma in the anime here :( 2:43 this part sounds so majestic ... and then proceeds to evolve more AND MORE AND (omg 3:01 sounds so cool) 3:12 calms down 3:19 the solo singing here is really pretty and the F#, G#, A# at 3:30 reminded me of how my piano teacher taught me to play it years ago 3:33 As a kid, I thought having the left hand play over the right hand was the coolest thing ever and here, it kinda looks like when kids play a game and are skipping over each other. If you want to be metaphorial, it's kinda like how the past (left hand on left side), present (right hand) and future (left hand on right side) are connected. Sorry if that doesn't make sense 4:01 is so magical!

As every week passes, it begins to feel more and more like the pre-2017 anime piano era, with quality Animenz uploads and Ishter uploads to look forward to consistently. The community has come a long way since then, but just seeing the ogs back really makes me feel nostalgic. Even Zengarang is trying to work his way back into it 😉. Thank you for giving me inspiration to keep working hard on creating music that I want to share with the world. 2020 is going to be a good year 🙂 The other thing that makes me nostalgic is hearing this melody. I remember sitting on AnoHana for a couple of years and then watching it in a single sitting. I know from experience that you get less attached to characters when binging a series but I'll be damned if I didn't openly weep at the end of that series and every time I hear some music from it it happens again.

Beautiful. Though I know it was late, I watched the anime only in October, 2019. Thankfully though, I understood all there was to understand. I felt the sadness and melancholy that the characters felt. This rendition of Secret Base was played almost entirely in legato, unlike the prancing, stacatto-ish original. It multiplied the feeling of sadness, of loss, and of yearning. Thank you for this, Animenz. This song means a whole lot more to me now.

"I can't believe AnoHana has aired almost 7 years ago." Probably because it was 9 years ago! It begun airing April 14, 2011! Time really flies 😭 Also sounds like you need a Seaboard or something lol. Hopefully in this decade piano modeling will sound a lot more realistic because with the right tools we can add "vibrato" to that
