TPMS are a pain in the ass.. everyone should do a walk around their vehicle doing a cursory inspection....not just tires but things and living things around or under the car

Why would they hide the reset button? In my car its one of the few visible buttons!

160k took the EGR off (not easy) and cleaned the crap out of it. Did find a little puddle of oil in the throttle body too.

Since this is just a warning light with no specific information about which tire is at what pressure, it has to be a system without internal sensors in the tires. This system calculates tire pressure from data from the ABS sensors. It compares how fast each tire rotates and if they get faster or slower over a longer period of time, it flashes a warning. That's why you gotta reset it
@ecopennylife2 жыл бұрын
You'd think it would go off once the tyre pressure was correct?
@TwistedD852 жыл бұрын
Depends upon what it was last set to. It's really just a calibration button, minus so many PSI from whatever you set it to sets it off.
@franktechmaniac74882 жыл бұрын
No, it won't reset by itself. Resetting is only possible while the car isn't moving and the button being pressed.

Is there a way to check the psi on the system like other cars?

Howdy, I’ve been recently looking to buy a Prius V. From what I’ve been hearing is that these vehicles start going downhill around 150k miles with EGR/head gasket issues and eventually around 200k they need a completely new engine. Now I don’t know if this is true for everyone but I’m curious if you’ve experienced any of these issues?
@2stroketurbo Жыл бұрын
Nope. They are great cars, like anything else they need to be maintained

@@2stroketurbo have you hit that high of miles in yours?

It's true. I have 331,532miles on mine, just replaced the engine for the second time last weekend. Not a tough job, 8 hours or so. Good used low mileage engines run about 1500 bucks. Other than that, the car has been pretty flawless.

For me personally, the video was too long. The first three minutes was unnecessary information, and as others have noted, the button says set, it does not say reset, so the video should be redone with the correct functionality of the button, the positive side, the person making the video was easy to understand and the quality of the video was clear with good lighting.

Every time I see a Prius my car automatically shifts into a lower gear so it burns more gas to compensate the emissions... 😛

2stroke I must critique not only your spelling attempt at Pruis rather than Prius but your pronunciation. Though spelt Prius, it is pronounced "Pious" because of all the holier than thou bastards who own one!
