Thanks for showing The Tip. I went there in the 80s before the resort was built. We stayed in Billy huts and shared showers and toilets with the builders who came to create the resort. Meals were cooked for us all, and guests and builders helped with the dishes afterwards. It was a fabulous holiday surrounded by wildlife. Great memories. 💖

I’ve been watching this channel for the past few months living out of a hotel. I LOVE bringing home Screen Shots to shows my kids and wife where I dream to visit! Australia is quite far from North Carolina USA but so inspired to “get out there” like I used to do off grid camping with my dad. Peace keep the content rolling into 2025!

2:18 I took my little brother to a secret little 4x4 playground near cairns one day. Pulled up by the river and told him to look up. About 18m above our heads in the tops of all the gum trees, up in every fork, was ripped up vegetation, twigs, broken branches and full on tree roots from the flood that had gone through two weeks earlier. Told him how it got there. Blew his mind.

Yeh i followed the telegraph line all the way from Bramwell Junction to the jardine. river then crossed the river on the ferry and drove back to the telegraph line on the other side of the river and followed it from the Jardine to Seisa which was the hardest to find as there is no markings on any map anymore ... i used an old Army map and often mowed down trees to follow the old markings ... something i've never seen anyone else do ... then followed the line out to Telegraph bay where it goes into the sea ... Pretty sure that was 2001 because i did so much damage to my GQ wagon that i traded it in on my first Red GU Ute when i got back.

Don't forget to tell everyone the cost of crossing the Jardine??? I heard it was expensive but when I actually got there and he told me how much, I was beside myself to say the least! I don't mind paying, especially if it's going into the community, but $295 cmon?? On a lighter note, great episode 🤗

Thanks for the upload. These off grid episodes up north have been great. Please don’t take this as a slight cause I know Graham goes out of his way to give a culturally informed perspective and apologies up front if this part of the “many stories” about the Jardines you chose not to include. The history of the Jardine’s as pioneers of the Cape needs to be balanced against the fact that they were responsible for countless massacres as well. The cattle drive from Rockhampton to Somerset while an impressive feat and worthy of respect; is well documented to have been accomplished by the Jardine’s shooting and killing entire tribes of men, women and children who showed the slightest amount of resistance. Apologies again and looking forward to the next upload.

Aperture is the amount of light that is let in on the picture. Cameras have a built in light monitor. You want the needle in the center. That’s accomplished by the aperture. Graham’s description is completely wrong. JS. As someone who was a professional photographer that’s my two cents 😮
