Here is some info. The shed was built sometime in the mid-late 2000s previously it was just two doors that opened on the side of the mountain. On the other side of the doors is a passageway that is 700 feet long and it leads to the elevator and also the commercial cave. The passageway is manmade and serves as a backup entry and exit point for the commercial cave. They used to every October have a haunted attraction in this passageway. You would ride the elevator down, walk through said passageway, and be chased by someone with a chainsaw onto a bus. Then you would ride the bus back up to where the commercial your started.

I have a question is the elevator for the LM cave the same as the commercial caverns elevator? As in does it go deeper or is it 2 separate elevator shafts
When I was in Scouts as a kid we use to go to Tumbling Rock cave in Tennessee. It is a wild sacrificial cave and the only opening was on private property. Our group was the only group that had permission to actually spend the night inside the cave. We would generally go with one of our local cave rescue workers that I have understood to be nationally recognized. The cave is at least 4 miles long and has a 700' mountain INSIDE the cave, a tall dome that no-one has found the top as of yet and a large hole big enough to put an entire 747 inside. I have no clue who has ownership of the land at this point since it is unlikely the original owners are still alive.

Y’all bring back so many memories of my childhood. I grew up in south Middle Tennessee in the Tennessee valley. We had a cave on my grandparents property but it was small and ended in a small water chute. As a teenager we used to go down into an old cave/mine. We were unaware that the mine was shut down in the 50’s for stability issues. Puts light on how much one valued their life. The only time I’ve ever been through anything like that was at Cumberland Caverns going through bubble gum alley and fat mans squeeze. I never used to have issues with claustrophobia but y’all make me lose my mind. Of course hearing about Nutty Putty cave makes it that much worse.

Carlsbad Caverns hall of the white giant wild cave tour, Mammoth's advanced tour, Tennessee's Racoon Mountain back of the cave tour into spaces that are this small, 10+ hours and overnight in the cave. Also Devils Den southern Missouri, requires gortex, river cave, passages are navigated on back in water up to chin with ceiling above nose.
