i would advise against drinking cave water. 98% of the time itll be safe but arsenic is 1 of many things that occurs naturally in the ground the odds of getting contaminated water are low but water and rice are effected more than any other food. distilling water is very easy to do and no water in the world is cleaner than freshly ditilled water. however is is so clean drinkin it exclusively will deplete electolytes so add just a little salt after if u do. ill be trading distilled water for food and weed in the apocalypse

I used to teach caving in that cave, and your video brings back countless hilarious memories. If you go up through the gnarly overhead blocks you get to the big room, flowstone draperies, a high climb up into the ceiling and the Birth Canal. There is also a scary-tight passage called the 7 Gates, which is "Vaseline caving" for big folks. One of our favorite things to do was to eat lunch in total darkness, then, when everyone's pupils had enlarged to dinner plates, break out the wintergreen lifesavers and crunch them with open mouths. They really DO spark in the dark. I gave maps to the novices mosts afraid of claustrophobia, and taught them to map-read, and they would soon become the leaders. Good times.

This is so freakin cool! Ive always been so intrigued by caves and all that but growing up in southern indiana near so many caves and karsts, especially when I was very young, living near springmill state park, growing up seeing all the caves there, the same year i was born cavers need to be rescued out of a cave (Donaldson cave?) On rescue 911 show. Ive toured some of the caves via boat etc. But theres no way I think I could go into a cave on my own, uneducated. feels irresponsible to me. Thanks for sharing what im not skilled enough to do on my own.

I was exploring a cave south west of here, after the summer of 2012 , and what I'm about to say might suprise you guys. Basically I go in there, not expecting to find nothing except an empty cave right, turns out some people actually were living down there, and I don't mean people with flashlights sitting on rocks living down there, i mean LIVING living down there, couches tables lamps generators fridges running water you name it, I was completely shocked, They asked me if I wanted to stay down there with them And I lied and said yeah sure why not, but little did I know they just wanted someone to run up to the surface from time to time and bring back supplies and what not. So anyway one day about a week into it They asked me to do my first run, I go up to the surface and gather what provisions and supplies they requested for me to bring back, i get back to where the cave was "supposed" to be and there was nothing there just an empty field of grass.. I thought Maybe I went to the wrong spot but I quickly realised I didn't make that mistake... the cave.. completely vanished...

Olight have been my go to for awhile - the light itself never let me down yet - but I've found the straps on some models tend to break easily at the thin connection between the main strap and the body of the torch - so be wary of that. Fortunately not happened to me but seen a couple of people lose their brand new Olight that way :(
