It's called Eagle Mountain, just north of desert center CA. The place is well preserved because it's out in the middle of nowhere and one of the schools is still used. The entire place is owned by Kaiser Ventures and the housing was also built and owned by them as company housing. They also have (had) a 48 mile railway track due south to the eastern side of the Salton Sea that is currently being torn down for scrap. The area is (mostly) fenced off and the neighborhood is a long ways away from the entrance. There is one guard that is rarely there and mostly just patrols the mine area. The housing area is pretty likely to be torn down in the coming years and the mine equipment and the like will most likely be sold as scrap as they did with the railroad they built. The mine area where the shops and buildings are; are the place you REALLY need to check out, they are the most untouched and old school equipment. Also about 4 ish miles on the south side of the freeway right there is an abandoned 500 foot long railroad bridge that's soon to be dismantled.

I was saying similar but yours was more interesting thank you for all the info! yeah theres a lot of old abandoned buildings as such in that area but with the large expansion of housing tracks theyve been doing, all of this old neat stuff will be gone :( for better or worse who knows

What a terrible place to live in and go to school to. No woods for privacy to hide in or give shade from the hot sun. And that desert looks worse than the one I live in. People need to buy up my "Impact" and "Dance of Death" novel on Amazon to channel me money so I can afford to move out of the desert into a forested area. I lived here in the mid 70s it was a great place to live i was able to return there in 2000 and found the house i lived in and visited my grade school it was creepy to see the place in disrepair since the last time i was there it was so alive and thriving

This is Eagle Mountain. My grandfathers worked in the mine and my parents went to high school together here. I remember going there when I was very little to visit my grandparents. There are a lot of people who treasure their memories in that place.

Yeah, from this place I actually do get the Hills have Eyes vibe because the ghost town looks a lil similar to the one that was in the remake of the Hills have Eyes. Also don't get me wrong I do enjoy watching how Sam & Colby does their exploring videos but I actually like the way Josh does his exploring videos as well, especially when Josh gives off a bit of a backstory for that specific abandoned place.

My dad worked there in 1967-1969. We lived in desert center. I remember we were friends with a family who had four sons in Eagle mountain. Errol, Quinton, a d I can’t remember the other two. It was a beautiful town, Very affluent, middle class and entice people, thriving. Sad it closed. We left to go back to Africa as my mother hated desert center.

I recall my Grandma's old house had that style of cabinet door pull in the kitchen. Those are metal kitchen cabinets, popular during the 1940's-1950's era. One of the factories in my hometown manufactured them.

Have to agree, I think it's fake.I got curious and tried to look it up. Biosafety levels apparently only go up to 4, and the name of the organisation on the warning (CICA\Central Incident Control Agency) doesn't seem to really exist. The warning looks like a prop just printed on regular paper. Someone who visited before probably thought the town would be a fun place to do like a creepy apocalyptic zombie virus kind of photoshoot, maybe for a short story or sth, and made the warning themselves But it also peaked my interest hah

I know exactly where this place is at. I lived and worked in Los Angeles, CA (I'm from the East Coast originally) about a year ago and I spent a Saturday out driving around in the area where this town is at (but I didn't actually know about it yet -- I was just driving around the area). I was on Google maps the next day just looking around the areas where I drove and that was when I spotted this town on the map and I realized how close I drove to it but I didn't go into it. I had only been a few miles away from it. I wanted to go back and see it so bad because I could tell looking at it on Google maps that it was abandoned (because of the condition of the roads) but I didn't know anyone at the time in LA since I had only been there for a few months at that time so I ended up not going back to it. I wanted to go back with other people, but not on my own... After seeing your guys' video, now I wish I had gone even if on my own... Looks really wild.
