Bill Murray has played sad scenes before and after this, but I don't think I've seen his eyes being so profoundly sad looking.

He was probably remembering something that actually happened to him.

So sad and moving and also incredibly happy. Just like real love. I love this movie.

You are certainly right, but the expressive face of this awesome woman... a 17 years old actress playing the role of a 25 years old woman means more than 1000 words. He feels real love for her, and her for him, the kind of love born in the brain, in the chest of us, i hope that you taste this wonderfull feeling almost one time in your life. She or him becomes all your world, you need nothing more than hug him or her and kiss this man or this woman , the entire world is in your arms. I really love this movie, you understand me, and for sure like in a famous play of Luigi Pirandello anyone coul choose his personal meaning for the last cut. Is up to you or to me the means of the last scene, but in my gut i feel the real love between these two souls. I was 44 when I saw this movie for the first time, and now 64 years old my opinion is ever more stronger, is the beghinning of a real great love. Maybe i'm too romantic, but i'm Italian and I really love this movie and ths wonderful final cut. Have care of yourself and of the man of the woman you love... don't loose him or her, or you will became ... like me. Good luck. Hold tight with your love.

It is obvious by the expression that they intend to see each other again and try for a future. There can be no doubt regardless of actual words. The question is what words did she imagine to act the scene at the time?...

It sounds like he says; "To be honest with you, when they say "did you have a nice business day?"..tell the first man, tell the truth. Ok?"

"I have to be going now, but I won't let that come between us." is the going standard as to what the whisper was... BUT, to this day Sofia Coppola says that in the filmed scene Bill Murray is just mimicking whispering as the actual lines where supposed to be fleshed out later... But Sofia never did, so I guess what he is whispering is whatever the viewer imagines it to be.

I really enjoyed many aspects of this movie, but I have been to japan, and the first time was before this movie came out. I really hope Americans do not behave the way these people did in this film. They were seemingly shameful and idnorant of other cultures. I really don't know how Americans behave in other countries, but I hope they do not behave as a demonstrated in this film.
