@@UnknownProblems same here - but I am a FL studio user 🥲 sadly I cannot follow each step with the EQs etc.

this is why new style kicks like this are pretty lazy, miss the old crunchy kicks that took forever to make. Precision distortion crafting, loved it...almost like magic
@UnknownProblems3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Creating a classic kick requires a lot more, and i love them myself too, but you have to keep in mind something more simple doesn't necessarily equal more lazy.

arent old crunchy kicks just distortion and eq in a 909? what complicated old kicks are you talking about?
@sendlocation8476 Жыл бұрын
Is this considered a Nustyle kick? How come back then when people made kicks they was using lots of EQ and distortion chains like 20 of them. Why now nobody does this? What has changed? I have been away from the scene for awhile so want to know
@UnknownProblems Жыл бұрын
Don't know exactly what this kick would be considered, but people still use a lot of eq and distortion chains nowadays, but maybe not us much as back in the days for a couple of reasons. 1. The kicks now are a lot different and sometimes don't require as much 2. Lot of people use fm synthesis to make their tails (like me in the video) so that is already a much more harmonically rich starting point than a plain 909 would be, so not as much distortion is needed to shape it.

@@UnknownProblems what would you consider an fm synth? Which are the top ones people use? Also what is require when making a hardstyle kick in there? How many waves do you use and what is needed?
@UnknownProblems Жыл бұрын
@@sendlocation8476 Top ones are Serum, phaseplant and Vital which is a free option. For starters just two waves is enough to get you going. Like what i'm doing in the vid is i'm fm modulating the sinewave with the more fuzzy looking wave on top to get some character. This is the basics of it and you will get wildly different results by just trying different waves as modulators and messing with the modulation ammounts. then after that distorting and processing further in ableton.

The kick you made here is actually better than a lot of the kicks in professional tracks imo. However what I'm more interested in - I NEED THAT TRACK FROM THE OUTRO
@UnknownProblems2 жыл бұрын
Haha thank you! Yes the outro track is my remix of Michael Phase - Count On You. You can find it on my channel!

Do you pitch within Live? I resorted to buying Nimble Kick because the timestretching algorithms were cancerbad in Live.. FL user here
@UnknownProblems3 жыл бұрын
I do pitch with the live algorithms from time to time, but most often i do the final pitching in nimble aswell.
