Dura beanz I've always just referred to it as leap frogging. Shame it doesnt work in most games. If the targets not caring about self preservation they'll usually just tank the hits and dish out whatever damage they can

The move and shoot tactic you used is called bounding overwatch. Some shoot (usually a quarter of whatever unit it is) while the others move up and they constantly switch over. it allows you to move while keeping enemy heads down.
