My favorite part of the series is scar just running from that wither for like 15 minutes straight while asking for help and destroying everyone their bases

Right, that was crazy funny and just insane performance. And his acting was perfect too. But it was kind of sad how no one gave him kudos, people just laughed. He basically saved the server because he was able to keep the wither busy and then lead him to the warden. And in the end he won, so he got the last laugh

My favorite part was Etho sabotaging the zombie apocalypse by subtly helping his alliance members; getting in the way of them pursuing Cleo, and noticing invisible Grian but not telling anyone, then distracting the others at his base while Grian escaped. Also, you need to get Grian on the podcast.

I mentioned this moment on Reddit, because Etho pressed fail on his initial task, and he talked about how hard being the superhero of the server would be, but after he fails the task, then goes on to be the super hero of the server for those moves. The funniest thing about grian and etho rigging the raffle is Etho wasn’t trying to get grian to win- he was trying to get BDubs to win- and grian actually did throw his item into the middle hopper (BigB saw him) so it was a combination of Grian rigging, BigB not snitching, and Etho rigging it incorrectly that made that line of events happen.

I became an Impulse fan through Hermitcraft, and I knew of Skizz through him, But the life series is what really drew me to Skizz's content and character. Now I watch not only his POV in the life series, but literally anything he puts out or is included in. I have a feeling 2024 is going to be Skizz's big year for both Twitch and KZbin...and he deserves it.

It is unbelievable to me that the zombie episode is controversial. It was my favorite task by a long shot because how it ripped though the groove the series had gotten into with the task. As well a serving as a great balancing mechanism for the lost of three players (cutting the reds down to just poor martyn). Oh, I just loved that one so much, it breaks my heart to call it bad.

SAME! I love the series, but it's fast pace, high-stakes nature is what makes it so fun to watch. Being over halfway through and back to a lull presented an issue, and the zombie episode was a delightful way to solve it.

I thought it had to be newer viewers but apparently it wasn't. You would think after 4 prior seasons they would have realized that the series is meant to last right around 8 weeks. It's a brief reprieve for the creators from their normal content and it's a nice short, fast-paced, and entertaining series for the fans. I told the people who got upset to think of it like an anime. If you're looking for a long term commitment to a series, your "One Piece" is Hermitcraft or Empires. If you just want something you can binge watch on a lazy rainy Sunday (like the Life movies) your "My Roommate is a Cat" is the Life series.

@@liamengram6326 that's a really good comparison. Also, I think it's mostly long time viewers because they've had more time to build parasocial relationships in their minds. They invented a world where they are owed their vision of the series being played out. Edit: I also want to note I see this with the MC community at large. New players are delighted and overwhelmed by recent changes, and old players complain that it's not enough, or that it's not what they want. Tbh it may just be a culture thing within the MCYT space that needs to be directly addressed.

In no other hardcore series are you ever going to see 2 wardens and a wither in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. That's the magic of this series. It's absolutely unique. You couldn't replicate it if you wanted to.

I just don't get the part of the Life series fanbase that takes the rules more seriously than literally any of the actual players do. I thought Grian made it very clear from day one of 3rd Life when he accidentally killed Scar that they're really all just a big collection of friends goofing off and that the rules are "more like _guidelines_ than actual rules." You do your best not to break 'em, but if you do, oh well, we all move on. And that mindset has persisted all the way up to Secret Life. None of the players are gonna ACTUALLY get pissy over Scar wearing a helmet and refusing to take it off for his task, for example, because it created some really funny moments, but for some reason there are some in the audience who treat moments like that as if the real world is ending. It's just baffling to me to try and police the fun the players are having like that when it was established from the first episode of the first season that it's just all friends goofing off

From what I can tell, Impulse's tactical sacrifices haven't gotten nearly the amount of flak that Scott's have. Despite the controversies, the tactical sacrifices are a great aspect of the series and can be used for great narrative purposes. It also baffles me how most of the other players can do it without controversy, but the moment the better players do it, it's controversial.

I find it very funny how skizz and scar had a huge rivalry in the season and Skizz gives Scar a final chance of family and alliance by joining him in the finale, Scar betrays him & nearly takes him out but gives the final kill to Joel which in turn gets him his alliance that he longed for the entire season

Also that kill was so funny/sad. Poor Joel with 2.5 hearts was chasing Skizz who had more than 5 hearts and then Skizz fell in some random pit followed by BigB's scream when he died.

Normally you start with your favorite, and then cycle through until you have seen all the events. And maybe watch someone extra if they did something cool and you want their perspective as well. A perfect example was how in double life between Pearl and Etho you could mostly see everything. But this season the tasks made everyone scatter and act very weird causing a lot more incentive to watch everyone. (All the way through of course)

A favourite underrated moment I loved to quote was from the first ep when Cleo abandoned The Heart Foundation and Skizz says to Tango “Bros before Cleo’s” and she responds with “YOU’RE GONNA DIE SKIZZ…mostly to himself” I don’t know why but that interaction just stuck with me 😂

Heart foundation was an absolute highlight for me this season. Even if the Heart Foundation arc didn’t go the way Skizz planned, I still loved the one that did happen: going from giving hearts to others outside the heart foundation, to giving hearts to each other within the heart foundation, to having the rest of the server give hearts to Tango in the last episode. It was so fun to watch!

I completely agree on the fact that the secret tasks aspect of the series made us viewers very curious about the different POVs. For the first time in the Life Series I felt curious and implicated enough to watch all people's episodes every week, instead of the usual 2-3 same people. Watching the final episode in order of deaths, slowly closing tab after tab as the session would go on and players would die, was one of the most intense moments in my life. That final 7 fight was crazy.

One of my favorite moments is when Impulse asked Bdubs to kill him. Bdubs saying: “To be a horse?” Is the funniest thing. Grian and Etho gaming the Heart Foundation was great. The four way game of tag was really fun. Tango and Torchy was both funny and impressive. (I had no idea his improve was so on point.) Scar's task telling him to do the opposite of whatever he was told created several hilarious moments. And of course the ending was amazing.

I've said it before and I'll say it again 😊 I think Skizz belongs on Hermitcraft. He has that same vibration of new energy that Grian had in season six. He loves the Hermits and they seem to love him. I've heard Skizz say before that he's not good at building or at Minecraft in general but I think he doesn't give himself enough credit. I LOVED TFC, he was an amazing hermit and he never built grand castles, and he wasn't able to upload as much as he probably wanted because of his IRL situations. I don't know what's coming in season 10 of Hermitcraft but I'll be watching and waiting and I truly truly hope to see Skizz join the server he belongs in. 😊 ❤️ (P.S. I loved The frog moment. Skizz just seeing and loving the frog and tango just murderateing it. I loved the editing you both brought to it. Impulse's NOOOOO that echoed through the whole server. Grian and Skizz calling Pearl and Bdubs stupid and then getting overheard. Scott saying he doesn't want to hurt skizz because it's like stabbing a puppy. Pearl's final episode when her mounders died. I almost cried. The music and her reaction were just heartbreaking (I know that's not you guys but you should go watch it. Gem when she has to kill Scott was heartbreaking too). I think these series just get better each time. You get more comfortable with each other. Great work....now go enjoy your holiday and don't think about work till next year!

This is my favorite season of the life series so far. Bdubs said it frankly "this series is turning us all into psychopaths", and we LOVED it. Everyone just performed/played so well and this premise was just BONKERS. I loved the more social tasks from the beginning (there was a moment in session 2 or 3 where five tasks collided), and I think if the endgame acceleration has a bit of tweaking (personally I think more aggressive tasks overall once red lives enter the picture), this is easily the format I'd love to see again one day. Edit: agreed on the point of not listening to Reddit criticism. Seems like a bunch of parasocial negative nancies that don't understand it's just a show. The strategic sacrifices were awesome moments for the group, and Smajor was on the same page independently

I personally adored the decision to deliberately fall to the boogeyman plague via Bdubs, for the record! (And the fact that it was Bdubs of “they gave me a clock” fame made it extra fun!) any one complaining that deliberately and strategically dying isn’t in the spirit of the series is a weak summer child who would Not have survived Red Winter. Going back to the butterfly effect from last episode, Bdubs eating a golden apple probably changed the winner of the season. He gappled right before Scott killed him. If he hadnt, Joel's flame would've killed him, and he would've gotten the hearts to kill Scott, which would have led to killing Gem too (cuz they were both low). He would have teamed up with Pearl against Scar cuz they were both Mounders. Even if she got the kill, he would still have about 10-15 more hearts than her, and could easily beat her from there, winning the season.

The early episodes are my favorite. The relaxed, goofy nature of every video and especially the Hermit bunk bed cheering every Hermit that comes in!!!! Such a wonderfully wholesome moment!!

Its honestly the professionalism of everyone understanding their characters are separate from their real life adulting that makes me love this particular group fot the Life Series. They're all still friends, no pettiness, and they're all still able to joke around. Its great.

I think my favorite task of the season was when Grian and Etho had their hard task to bring a wither and a warden up and get them to fight. The idea of this task was so brilliant and it just happens the two people that are great allies (and are my favorite KZbinrs) get this collaborative task. It was just fascinating they managed to pull it off, I think if it weren’t those two this session wouldn’t be as much interesting as it turned out.

I also loved Grian’s finale of the tnt minecart trap (he timed that so well) and the 1v3 at the end, he took so much hearts off them that basically prevented them from winning. In my opinion, in every life series except for 3rd life, his final death wasn’t as exiting as many people would hoped (probably himself as well), but this time he really went out swinging. I am just proud of him and happy that he also think he did well at the end.

The non-pg jokes this season were unreal. It was often the usual people, yk, Cleo and Scar, Martyn and Skizz sometimes too, but the amount of non-pg jokes Pearl made caught me off guard.

I always thought it would be interesting to have a post-finale talk about the season with everyone involved-glad to see this filling that void! Secret Life was genuinely my favorite season so far. I love how the tasks encouraged a higher level of goofiness since everyone was trying to complete their tasks without being obvious about what their tasks were, and the whole secret aspect made me watch more povs than I have in previous seasons!

my favorite emotional scene was absolutely at the end when Scott's convincing Gem to take him out of the series. like my heart actually hurt in that moment. their interactions there was just PHenomenal. Favorite Gotcha moment was the point when Scar's Egging tango on to hurt skizz. and Tango just turns on him so bad. like he legit had me convinced. i shouted out loud at that, and my boyfriend threw his sock at me... cause he was in a voice call for D&D

I loved the moment where Tango and Skizz were bantering about the redstone, Tango refusing to do the redstone, Skizz trying his hardest to figure it out while Tango was mocking him in the background. Skizz was absolutely right, the two of them have great energy together.

The life series is what got me into you guys, hermitcraft, and back into minecraft after like 7 years. I was scrolling though youtube when Ethos 1st 3rd life episode popped up in my sub box. I hadn’t watched an etho vid in ages but this one had Bdubs in the thumbnail and caught my attention. I’m so glad I did. I realized I also got into the Life Series first then Hermitcraft! I started watching last life via Lizzie because I was into Among Us at the time and Last Life felt like Among Us but longer. Little did I know I will end up going back to watch Hermitcraft s6/7, Third Life then follow Hermitcraft s8/9 and the next 3 life series and get to know all these amazing ccs!

I really liked the mechanics this season, especially following Limited Life. It's like it was meant to create a situation exactly the opposite of what happened in the previous season. Everyone was scared to take any kind of damage, whereas in Limited Life, everyone was dying willy-nilly. Also, Limited Life was very alliance heavy. There was a lot of big and/or strong alliances, and in Secret Life, that was a lot harder to establish simply because anyone who was previously trustworthy could get a task that suddenly makes them an enemy. Anyways, I thought Secret Life was especially enjoyable following Limited Life.

Favorite task overall was Tango’s session 3 task (Torchy). Not only was it an absolute riot from any perspective, it was the session I went from ‘I’m watching Tango first this season, dunno who I’m rooting for yet’ to ‘I want Tango to win’. My favourite thing about Secret life is how much the secrets caused things to overlap. Like you'd watch an interaction and be like 'why did that happen' and it would be one persons task made them do one thing which meant someone else's task made them do another thing and so on. It was really good multiple perspective story telling, because everyone you watched gave you at least a little context for how things happened in someone else's video. My hope for next season is that Skizz, Scar and Scott band together to form the Sksksquad

The loud voices usually aren't the majority. 🙂 Just look at how viewership for this podcast is growing and you'll know that. :-) It was a really fun series to watch, and I enjoyed hearing the "Directors' Cut" from you guys. I love Scar, but definitely cheered for Skizz after that amazing kill. And the pure joy and pride in your voice when you told Tango about it afterward was priceless.

Skizz mentioning that the format and the cast are both huge parts that make this series something special is a perfect way of summarizing it. I used a plugin to play double life with a group of 10 friends recently and of course we loved using the format and it lead to fun interactions, but it wasn't the same as the series itself due to people approaching it differently. Some of them looked at it with nothing more than "get the best items the quickest", instead of the improv experience that happens in the youtube series. Of course it was fun nevertheless, but I very much agree that the cast of amazing people are what makes the life series special, and Grian deserves all the credit for putting this together!

Thats the wild thing about people getting genuinely upset at outcomes, it really is everyone playing a character (themselves or a madeup one) in a situation- its still just a game with the goal being making funny content to upload, and that always is what happens and all that matters

The Life Series was one of the first times I've been able to get my mom to watch any KZbin series consistently with me. This series, we picked one person from each group to watch together. My mom gets motion sick, so three to four episodes are the max she can watch before she has to stop. Later, I would watch other perspectives while working on my Minecraft world. I like to hear the commentary and thoughts of the creators. I loved the zombie apocalypse and watching Gem trying to bring order to the chaos she started! Watching it from different perspectives as they either fell to or survived the apocalypse was hilarious!

Honestly, I LOVED watching BigB in this season. He was such a troll, like all the time, having so much fun. And it really sounds like you (Skizz) enjoyed interacting with him. As a WFH person with the ability to have SL going on my side PC I watched almost every episode and every POV. With that perspective I can assure you that you both were fully entertaining and I had a great time with you on Fridays. As far as my favorite moment from the entire series goes...man I think I actually shed a tear sometime during Scar's finale, I don't fully remember if it was his reign of arrow terror upon everyone, the sheer shock that he had made it, his obliviousness to the fact he had won, or his message to the audience at the end but he got me. Thanks for continuing to bring smiles to us all, looking forward to the future content from you both.

I loved this episode! Secret life was phenomenal, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every life series. The Heart Foundation was so funny. That scar kill with the TNT was super epic! I think when Skizz fell into Scott's trap and got finished off by Joel, it would have been hilarious if skizz begged and pleaded for his life in his final breath. I think the best thing Skizz had going for him was the appearance of meekness and kindness. Groveling at Joel's feet would created a hilarious conclusion whether Joel hesitated or not. As for Impulse, i really liked the one where you didn't reveal your task. Trying to guess your task that day made it so much more memorable to me ne when you revealed it. And taking Pearl to the end when you coukdnt hurt mobs was HILARIOUS! I just wish you had thrown more caution to wind and let loose more often. The ender dragon journey was the perfect example of just going in for the content. I really hope you learn to let go of your desire to win. Scar certainly had no expectation of winning at all!

Also my favorite grouping was close between the heart foundation and etho, cleo, and grian! Both alliances were so good and led to a lot of funny moments! I think it was because skizz and tango are like bread and butter, and bigb was so funny to add! And we dont see a lot of etho, cleo, and grian interactions, so it was a real treat seeing how good those three meshed!

I love that everything goes on and you all know it's in good fun ans no one takes it personally. The fact is the Life SMP is like a reality show like Survivor. You're all just playing the game and it creates amazing moments. I'm glad to hear everyone is a good sport about it behind the scenes to.

There's a lot of people online who live to be upset and be mad about everything, there was a lot of them this season but I think it's very important to look for the true fans and see that most of us actually LOVED this season, it was HILARIOUS and very very fun. Don't let people who look for any way to criticize (not in a constructive way) and make controversy of everything bring you down, you all did amazing this season and I think it was absolutely one of the best ever, the life series is ABOUT alliances and betrayal and fighting to the end, it's about the drama of it all that's what makes it so incredibly fun to watch.
