They don't mention it in this episode, but while filming, they always tell the people they meet that they're apart of some type of documentary. The type of "documentary" changes with each millionaire.

it looks much over 50k$ imo. the inside is so spacious. people living in an rv would have to save up for that for many many years and would probably prefer spending it somewhere else (maybe healthcare since this is US)

I'd like to know what the critics have done for anyone lately. It's not a sin to be rich. It's not wrong to pose as poor to determine where funds are best used. People want to be rich and punish those who are. Don't forget that it's the rich that drive the economy.. They build the businesses that employ us. Also, don't forget that the film was edited. Why do people have a problem with folks trying to do something good? These people made a lasting difference for many others.
@Poochilo13 жыл бұрын
If you didn't know, they tell people who they interview that they're doing a documentary on volunteer work, etc. to explain the cameras.

Their RV isn't that bad. I know people who live in way worse and not everyone who lives in an RV that size are poor. A lot of people who stay in the local campground travel for work and are well-off financially. They are just frugal.

These people are lucky that their $107 budget didn't include having to find a place to stay. Gregory and Cole Ruzicka from the first episode only got started with $150. They had to find their own place to say with that money so they also had to get jobs. These people are pampered by comparison, but so ungrateful.
@Abby-dz4tu6 жыл бұрын
I think they've earned the right to be pampered; they didn't inherit their wealth. They built it from the ground up. Why is success such a dirty word? Of course those who don't succeed, abuse.
@Abby-dz4tu6 жыл бұрын
This is a Congressional problem, Mr. Commenter. For a business to remain competitive, they have to go with the market or they risk enduring losses. I agree with everything you're saying, with one caveat: businesses can't set a living wage alone; they will get crushed. There has to be a Congressional mandate to go with this. Unilaterally setting living wages will garner press and praise, maybe well-wishes in the short term (people are ungrateful these days) but not much else

it's not suspicious at all when 2 people come in a store/live in a trailer with multiple cameramen following them..
@cimetiere13 жыл бұрын
I think it is ridiculous about the SUV, but you have to remember that these people are telling everyone that they are doing a documentary on poverty. It would thus make sense for them to be followed around by a camera and maybe people think they have the truck because it was loaned to them by the documentary team.
@doylesdolly11 жыл бұрын
I think it's great that people give away money but do they have to act so uppity do they forget where they came from. I am a senior citizen, I raised 8 children, only 2 I gave birth to. As far as their trailer is concerned I now live in a mobile that is about the same size as their trailer. They can go back to their millions, I have no choice but to live where I do. I am thankful that my children are all raised and are healthy.
@Abby-dz4tu6 жыл бұрын
With all due respect, ma'am, people are creatures of habit. Imagine living many years in a HUGE house, only to find yourself in a trailer a mere fraction of the size. It's a culture shock that takes time to get over. Doesn't mean they forgot their roots.

Although their intentions are good, they need to spend some time with me! I live on $60/MONTH for food. I have no car and have to walk 1/2 hour to catch a city bus, walking on a bad knee with no cartilage in it... in all kinds of bad weather. I haven't had television since 2010 and just got internet having gone that long as well without it. Try living like REAL people live... these people have no clue... nannies and people buying their groceries, etc... geesh...

$100 for a week? I don't feel too sorry for these people... I think $210 for a whole MONTH is plenty (for 2 people). Of course, I'm sure the t.v. people want them to look like incompetent billionaires. They were probably throwing stuff in the cart right along with 'em, since they really wanted it to be over their budget. T.V. people are like that. This show is more about millionaires getting dirty than it is about helping people. Still, at least people get helped. I like that.

@riceultra Its been a long time since Todd has been..well i guess poor, think of it like this, your a college athlete in the best condition of your life then you graduate and steadily grow a fat pot belly. You may try and play your sport again but your not as good. Its all because youve spend a long time away from it. Same situation (and i am NOT saying being poor is liking being an athlete), you spend a while away from it and your not used to it so you cant do whatever you did before as well.
