i remember finding Wayward Cave on my own when i was younger and being so proud of myself for exploring and finding something new. i can only hope they bring this feeling back in future games rather than giving us just a hallway to walk through :(

I used to sing "Secret Tunnel" when I was in the Wayward Cave back when I first played the Gen 4 games. But yes, #ruinsofalph is still by far the most mysterious place in the game to-date. My kind of secret spot is the Ditto island in the Isle of Armor.

The ditto island is not secret it’s on the map and you pass it while getting to the vespiqueen

Back in 2008 (when I was six), either someone had told me or I had imagined/seen online that there was some hidden doorway in wayward cave that led out to a patch of grass where you could catch the Kanto starters. This was a big deal to me since I didn't have FireRed/LG at the time and the Johto remakes hadn't come out yet, so I remember spending hours searching the whole cave looking for a secret doorway. I felt like there had to be something hidden there lol.

A few of the legendaries available in ORAS were obtained in the same way, I would struggle to call it secret.

A secret I discovered today was that red was in pokemon platinum if you get a pokemon that knows surf then beat crasher wake and immediately go to canalave city you'll see two trainers battling one of these trainers uses a pikachu and looks very much like Red.

I'm guessing because originally I believe Lapras was meant to be a mythical or legendary pokemon. So I think it may have already been in code or they were paying homage

Maybe I'm just an idiot. But I honestly didn't know about the existence of the Fuego Ironworks in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum until last year. When I noticed there was a location I'd never seen before on some Sinnoh map art.

Ugh I thought it was Sundays :( I thought they said Sundays for Lapras thus I never found one. I didn't have the internet until diamond and pearl. Then not fully established in home internet until black and white.😭 I wanted that lapras. Though I did enjoy pokemon games way more then. That sense of exploration is gone. Seems they're designed now to just let you complete them in less than a day. (Of you knew what you were doing and leveled up your starter you could clear the game in a day in the older games as well as the new. Just saying it had more hold ups and barriers or was I just young?)

Well it would be stupid to take those out tbh since those were a couple core aspects of the game, so they'll either put them in regularly or improve them in some way (like making Poffins like the Pokéblocks in ORAS where you can increase every contest stat)
