The whole foot allign thing just blew my mind. I didn't pay attention to this at all. Or slipping a right hand and countering with a right hand. He explains it really well too. I am starting to doubt my own gym because of this guy. The simplicity of how he explains things combined with the actual level this guy has is just crazy

I just started boxing (65). I watch and put into practice several of your videos. The other day, one of the trainers noticed the Tyson move I copped from one of your tutorials (left jab to the head, step off to the right, right hook to the body, then right uppercut, step back over, left hook to the body or head). He was very impressed. Mainly with the footwork, working out of a fairly low stance and angles to get the power for those punches. I’ll be taking this new one in today!

this is a mazing. Recently joined a boxing gym, and during my solo practice, I raised the question to myself why I see some boxers twist on the ball of their foot when throwing the hook and others don't. Nice to see that explanation in a video discussing a different topic!

@forresthunsinger68375 жыл бұрын
Good question, was thinking same... probably depends on situation and opponents ability to throw uppercut. Meaning, are you feet/foot in good position to pull back after the body shot? I’ve considered that, but let’s see if coach Yankello responds

Simultaneous countering I love it. You can also do the exact same thing by weaving under their left hook and land a left hook to the body at the same time. It's fucking brutal because they aren't bracing they are busy throwing a punch. Your hand will go into their guts like it's pudding.

Rolling hooks work. The first step in starting to slip and counter. I would recommend rolling hooks first. The other techniques require incredible timing and experience. These counters would be equilvent to a purple belt level in ju jitzu. They require extensive fighting experience. Slipping and countering is a very advanced level in boxing.

This is the "BEST" Boxing Channel Period. I love how the Great Coach Tom Yankello really take his time to teach and share his techniques. Before you morons and keyboard warriors knock on him, you better do a research on who he trains and are his students. Many of his students are multiple World Champion and Roy Jones Jr. is one of them. Man I wish I can train with him because he's such an Amazing person (for all the charity he does) and Coach. Maybe one day I fly out to Pennsylvania and train with him in the Summer for 3 months a year: ) Thank you again Coach Tom for taking your time and sharing your knowledges with us newbies.

Hey Coach Tom Yankello, do you always recommend not rotating your foot over when throwing the liver punch or only in certain situations?
@regularbob8 ай бұрын
I like how you differentiated between when to turn the heel out when throwing the left hook. I had seen videos where you had said NOT to turn your heel out and it always confused me because there are definitely times when it is better to turn out the left heel. What about the left uppercut?? If I am right shoulder to right shoulder with my opponent I always feel like it is easier to turn out my left heel when I throw my left uppercut on the inside. I feel like it creates some extra space and allows my to rotate easier.
