Having virtually infinite credit. Wanting to purchase TODAY. My Ford dealers always stick their foot in their mouth and talk to me like I'm stupid and my time and money are of no value. I just can't buy a Ford no matter how hard I try. I'm disrespected at every turn. I like Farley's talk. But he hasn't even begun to bring the hammer down on these shit dealers. However, Jim making the call to get out of certain markets is something I respect and I do have a lot of Ford vehicles I enjoy + recommend. It's great to see a CEO that handles himself as a human and enthusiast. I do wish Ford would have capitalized more on the Coyote Engine for Lincoln and used it in a sedan similar to the Charger or Marauder. Great interview. If I heard Farley right (around @23:00) I take it that Ford is eventually going to build Mustangs to compete directly with Porsche 911s. That is a great sports car but at the same time something that you can enjoy as a daily driver and it doesn't come off as overly aggressive or " super snotty" to people looking at it. It's not just about beating Porsche's insanely fast record times on a track. Maybe I'm naïve but I think Ford is capable of doing that.

Great thing with Porsche, they can be ran hard on the track, with little impact and concerns, other than brake fluid and pad upgrades. Will be interesting if GTD can follow suit. Would be nice to have something a bit cheaper and smaller. Also seems like Chevy missed the boat, doing something similar with the Camaro; ZL1 1LE was a great track platform, that could have been expanded.

He won’t touch that one w/ a ten foot pool. MSRP is simply suggest pricing. Dealers are free to charge what they want. If it’s to high, people won’t buy. Did anyone else get nervous when the CEO of Ford started complimenting Mazda, unbidden, or was that just me? Seems Sedans are a real possibility as an EV/RE-EV product, low market affordable option, but not intended to be presented as a general replacement/alt for oversized SUVs. Shame it also doesn't sound like there's anything planned for Lincoln in the near term as a CT4/5 or Celestiq competitor, regardless of powertrain. GM took the alpha platform and made luxury sedans and a Camaro off it. Surely the mustang platform could be given a dress-up.

This was a great interview. Wish he would have said whether he agrees or disagrees w/ the registers pushing EV mandates. Saying “you just have to deal w/ it” is not good for anyone. There are to many people in important positions that don’t have a clue about what they’re doing let alone the knock-on effect of their stupid decisions.
@neilturner67495 ай бұрын
Agreed I’d like to see more definitive statements of belief from the big auto manufacturers. Presumably behind the scenes they’re kicking ass with the politicians who’ve fucked up their industry with inconsistent law changes and policy statements. So far the only ones who’ve really “come out” with an opinion have been Volvo who released a remarkable report in 2021 (considering their own strong commitment to EVs) demonstrating that EVs are currently very bad news for global emissions and will be until the world cleans up its mains-electricity generation, and Toyota (who of course have a domestic-market Government in Japan that isn’t even trying to encourage EV adoption and therefore are very much pro-Hybrid).
@jasonlamar20535 ай бұрын
BMW came out against the EV mandates, with Toyota, but like the others is hedging into EV’s. That way they can offset the carbon emissions and bring up average MPG’s to meet CAFE standards. And if a model doesn’t meet emissions, the MFG’s have to pay a carbon tax. That’s why Farley has said recently Ford will keep building V8’s and Mustangs “as long as possible”. It’s a farce, and I wish more leaders of companies would fight this crap. Maybe Farley will; he is a true car guy and understands this. Until then, prices will go up, and quality will move sideways, or go downhill.
@skierpage2 ай бұрын
@@neilturner6749 the Volvo report was an outlier, it assumed huge emissions from hand-built batteries and dirty electricity at the factory and in operation. Every other study concludes an EV is better for the environment overall. It matches common sense that adding a 1/2-ton _recyclable_ battery to make a far more efficient (100+ MPG equivalent) vehicle powered by a grid that's increasingly wind and solar is better than burning through literally a dozen tons of gasoline in operation which itself is dirty to mine, refine, ship, spill, and then all goes up in smoke. The only debate is whether an EV pulls ahead after 30,000, 15,000, or only 7,500 miles of cleaner operation. What's your solution to decarbonizing land transportation?
